IMO Al Jourgensen or Aaron Turner or Dälek or Venetian Snares or Panacea or Sickboy or BongRa or J.Homme or Tom Barman …

What do you think?

I only do ‘alternate mixes’ :)
Though I have been experimenting with electronic music recently which is developing nicely!

I second the Al motion. I’d really love to see a Steve Albini-Therapy? collaboration, but you know… that may be just me…

People completely unconnected to rock but neverthless used to heavier music - opera producers etc. Would be interesting.

Shameless was with jack endino, would there be much difference?

I dunno, I think that Steve Albini’d make it sound… grittier? Is that the word?

How about no more remixes, I never listen to them anyway… just more newly recorded B-sides would be a lot more fun! :p

On the subject of mixes/remixes - is there a list of existing Therapy? mixes compiled anywhere? I know they’re not popular with everyone but I like a good remix every now and then, and would especially be interested in hearing songs like Screamager re-done.

Cheers,

mrk

I think they have the T? vibe and could do good things.

Sorry, I think we should just stick with live versions of the songs. Remixes are so 90’s. The fact that they destroy song just for the sake of filling space is/was bogus, and record companies expected us to pay for it.

True, true. I never listened/liked any of T? mixes, except ChurchOfNoise mixes, but it has nothing to do with the real ChurchOfNoise, except for its title :) So basically, yes, remixes sucks. But so does the EDIT, DUB, RADIO, DEMO VERSIONS, etc. tracks that are used to fill B-sides as well.

Have to agree, whats the point of a remix unless its to beef up the bass to play in clubs? Who wants to hear bits of good songs with bleepy noises added?!
Korn are the only rock band i know that have good remixes cos their music is simple and grimy anyway.

i like remixes, but i do love electronica/industrial stuff too.

C-Tec
Einsturzende Neubaten
Kid606
Atari Teenage Riot
or
Madcapsualmarkets

would create some very different mixes from each other. for me a good remix rebuilds the song whilst keeping the essence of it together and where possible gives you the ability to dance like a motherfucker, all night if required…

agreed. remixes are wank. id much rather hear a new b-side, a cover, or an acoustic version over a remix that just has a sample of a bit of the a-side, or has just been mucked around with a bit
