I’ve always thought that. He looks like the kind of person you’d see staring, slack-jawed, out of the side window of a minibus.

I doubt the dudes from silverchair pull many chicks as they apparently dont wash!
Wouldnt expect that from Australians, but maybe shampoo is sparse there.

Looking at them - i can quite believe it!! As long as they don’t make excuses like they can’t afford shampoo, though Daniel has got Nat Imbruglia to look after…can’t be cheap! :D

Silverchair’s first two albums are completely worthless, half of the songs on the other two are actually pretty good. It’s a good thing Daniel Johns gave up being a Cobain impersonator and grew his own style.
The new single seems a bit boring to me, but I’ll still give the album a try.

New stuff grows on you I find.
I don’t think Daniel was ever trying to be a Kurt Cobain impersonator. He has stated before he was never even influnced by Nirvana or owns a record by them. I think Diorama is their masterpiece. Good to see a real band still going these days. And 3 more days till ‘Young Modern’s release :)

i’ll get it at the weekend i think. This is the first thing i’ve been looking forward to in ages. The last 3 (muse, T? and RHCP) were complete let downs so i hope that just for once silverchair send me a ray of hope with an ok album before i give up on music entirely!

My advice is to give it time, and don’t judge it on first listen - if you’re one of those people.
The band have admitted that this album is more in the direction of T.Rex, The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac - so expect lots of 70s rock undertones and what have you there.
I think its wrong, sometimes, for bands to post a WHOLE album on myspace, I tend to find it ruins the flow of a album, especially when you haven’t heard it on a proper cd and have to resort to silly tacky mp3 streams.
But thats just my opinion.

The 3rd song is the most embarrasing pile of mush i have ever heard! The first 2 tracks are great, the rest sounds horrible to me.
Bugger, i was really looking forward to this too…i’ll listen to it again when i’ve finished with the Wildhearts new one, whch could be some time!

Yea mate give it some time. I usually let it run in the background whilst I’m doing something.
Not as good as their masterpiece ‘Dioramam’ but a nice effort.
