Anyone know if there will be a single, or singles for this album?

Yeah, I’m a music collector when it comes to my favorite bands, a download doesn’t cut it for me.

I’m not a fan of downloads either,i’d love a four track EP or a mini album with a lead track from OCFA.

I have a radio edit of the above track. Whether it’s radio-only or a proper single, I don’t know.

Where did you get the radio edit from?

I am fortunate to have received a package in the post…

Re-reading the press release, it actually says that Rain Hits Concrete is “the first single from the album” so it seems it is a bona fide single and they are planning more.

Thats good to know. I’m not sure about the sales of Rise Up but it got them back on the radio at least. Lets hope the new stuff gets the boost it deserves.

Rise Up was just a radio single, there were no sales.

A single would be excellent. I’m not a big fan of downloading. It’s comparable to taping songs of the radio. No artwork, no disc with the Therapy? logo. I like my T? collection, and want to add to it.

So…four track download only single confirmed for “Rain Hits Concrete” - 3 non album tracks.

Kinda cool, but I’ve no ability to burn the downloads onto cdr. I’ll still buy the single but will probably ask someone to send me the 4 tracks on a cdr.

If yes, I’m not too crazy about it. Sorry.

At least it’s got some studio recorded, non-album tracks with it and there’s artwork to download too.

Yes fair play to the band for releasing artwork and new tracks, these download eps porbably make better financial sense to a band who arent particularly inclined towards mainstream success than singles anyway, what cost will it be?

I probably won’t even burn it onto CD, just keep it on my PC and my MP3 player, so it doesn’t really bother me.

The news page states “iTunes all territories” does this mean fans in the States will be able to buy it too? Cool.

Non album tracks I can’t get my hands on. I’m not surprised this is the route they’ve gone down, but I am disappointed.

My take on it…

Unless you’re selling the sort of quantities that last week’s reality show winner (whoever that is) does these days, you’re almost certainly to make a loss. At least this way you can argue that the amount of discs manufactured is the amount sold - and every penny goes to the band.

Plus in the good old days (just to make me sound old), most CD singles were four tracks with three of them being exclusive. It was worth buying them then and I did it all the time. Now I’m required to get two CDs to get the lead track twice and (if I’m lucky) two new tracks. Any band having the temerity to release a four track CD finds themselves immediately ineligible for the chart. This measure was bought in apparently to help stimulate single sales (well that worked, didn’t it? They’re at an all-time low) and to take the pressure off bands who had to come up with new stuff all the time (so it was OK to release three new tracks across two formats?)

All bollocks basically, so as far as I’m concerned T? have done the right thing.

i’m kind of sad that we don’t get an actual cd for it… then again i’ll definitely get it and this will be the first time i’ll ever pay for an mp3

I’ll most likely try and download it on a friends PC. It’ll be the first time I’ve paid for a download too. Won’t have a clue what i’m doing though. As you’ve rightly pointed out, 3 new songs make it worth while.

I suppose the positive side of it is, it’s available in all territories, so our American friends who’ve been starved of T? albums/tours will have the exact same access. Hopefully sales will be substantial enough that it helps with getting distribution of the album over in the States.

I’m kinda mixed about the whole download single thing.

Yeah! It would be nice to have a CD of the E.P.
But if it’s not financially viable for the band to do that, then isn’t at least better to have it available as a download.

Also! I know that the band don’t have much of a presence in the U.S., so why don’t they make their albums available for download there. And in any other regions that their music isn’t available.
At least the last couple of albums, anyway!
They seem to be the ones causing the most agro with our neighbours across the water.
