I saw a live gig of the melvins on tv.

Isnt jello whatever hes called from the dead kennedys in them?

and im sure i heared something about mike patton and the melvins collabarating?

Ive checked out suspended animators by fantomas, i must say im really getting into it, mr bungle was great but i prefer fantomas it seems to have more appeal to me.

The Melvins did a two album collaboration with Jello, but isn’t a good indication of their stuff.

Check OUt the New album A Senial Animal or Stoner Witch they are great albums… really heavy band. Buzz the singer/guitar player is in Fantomas… and yes they did a live album with the Melvins and Fantomas all playing a mixture of both their stuff. Mike was also on a Mevins album. Directors cut is a good album to get by Fantomas… but as Spaceball said Delirium Cordia is cool… it’s one long song more atmospheric but excellent. To be honest both groups albums are all great… always pushing the boundries and you never know what you’re going to get, which I like.

Buzz has also done a grindcore band with people from Brutal Truth called.. Venomous Concept which I like:)

I think ill look into venemous concept and give them a go, can never say no to some good grind’.

Ive heared directors cut is good, all film themes covered right?

and Delirium Cordia from what ive gathered is a concept track based on having surgery with no anasthetic (a line from rainning blood by slayer - and dave lombardo is a memeber of fantomas)

On another patton related note i quite like the song he sung on on the dub trio album (wich was a really good album, kinda reminds me of dub war but with no vocals)

That song is also on the Peeping tom album:)

Check out Brutal Truth as well if you like your Grind… they are quite harsh!

Right. One of their more easy-listening albums, but excellent nonetheless…

It’s actually a line from angel of death. And even though Lombardo is in Fantomas, Delirium Cordia was not inspired by that line. It’s more a soundtrack to watch an operation by.

Check the Melvins and Lustmord album as well. some pretty cool stuff on there.

John Zorn, anyone? Guys heard the Moonchild album? Patton has talented musicians like Zorn, Trevor Dunn etc.

Suspended Animation was freaky album and I liked it. Anime gone fucked up something like that. :D

Just great stuff!

Nah, its okay, i’m very disappointed though. Wish they’d have put it out under a different banner.

Well me and Dan don’t seem to be agreeing on much lately, but I actually like it. It’s different from their other albums, and it builds as it goes along… i also think they were trying to get away from people comparing to faith no more all the time.

It’s just another one of those albums that grows on you instead of being an instant classic.

Not sure myself, there was only a handful of songs I liked as Peeping Tom, well if I was honest two, so it’s quite possible Mr Patton’s musical direction and my musical taste are moving in opposite directions

When I saw Patton with Fennesz i didn’t really feel a musical connection
to what he was doing. So for me it does seem his musical direction is different
from mine.

I haven’t heard the new tomahawk btw, but i have been playing one of the old
albums much lately. So i’ll go and listen to the new one soon!

Really looking forward to this album when it comes out, and the Crudo tracks are the closest to another lovage as that might not be happening now.
