Cube was good - Cube 2 was not great and Cube Zero was alright. I liked it’s originality. Not some slasher hunting college kids AGAIN.

It was a low budget film - what did you expect. Besides id rather see something original and interesting than obvious models running around getting picked off one by one directed by Wes ” cannot make a scary film for shit ” Craven… Although Scream was good because it was so tongue in cheek.

Yes, But you have to wonder - was Scream 2 purposefully not as good as the first one to fit in with the whole “ironic” thing they were going with ? I say hats off if that is the case.
Can you imagine wes craven going to an executive in hollywood somewhere ?
” I’ve got an idea for an ironic slasher trilogy ”
” Go on ”
” Well the first movie will set up all the rules for surviving a horror movie trilogy in a movie within a movie kind of way, whilst at the same time honouring and making fun of horror movies past ”
“Sounds interesting ”
” The sequel will obviously purposefully be bead to tie in with the whole ’ ironic - movie within a movie - second in trilogy is usually the worst one - type of thing ”
” Err what ? make a movie bad on purpose ? are you freaking nuts ? FORGET A BOUD IT ”
I can imgaine the movie studio calling up Wes Craven a few years later going ” This teen slasher thing is huge - we want scream 4 5 and 6…hello ? hello ?…”

Long shot this, but here goes;
Does anyone know the name of a move made in the early 90’s fitting this description; cheap US film, very violent, it basically had fighters from various countries participating in fights to the death in front of a crowd, each with their own unique weapons, I think it was set in Thailand or similar. I remember the awful acting and terrible editing (fighters who’d been killed earlier were appearing in shots etc).
I remember loving it as a teenager and would love to find a DVD of it somewhere. Just can’t remember the bloody name though. Any ideas?

Nope, I reckon my film came along shortly afterwards, riding on the coat-tails of Bloodsport. There were no big names in it from what I recall, just unknowns slaying eachother in pretty gruesome circumstances!

I didn’t mind it - I didn’t have any expectations at all. even though the only thing that really happens is a door moves by itself.
