i think the best venue is the arena (the big hall, and also the outdoor venue). it’s just a cool atmosphere there …

anyway, gotta buy my tickets next week. hope some friends will come with me too …

by the way, i was at the sepultura/in flames concert yesterday (at the arena). anyone else there? i was wearing one of my t? shirts (hate kill destroy), saw another guy with a red “irony” shirt …
the concert was great, sepultura ruled. in flames headlined, though they didn’t interest me that much … seen them too often already. (something that will never happen with t? … :)

hello my friend, the red irony shirt was me of course!

sepultura didn’t grab me too much,as I haven’t heard any album by them since ‘roots’ - the old tracks rocked though!

after the sound problems at the beginning were solved in flames were good as always. Too many kids in the audience though for my liking, think I’m getting old :)

the arena is a fucking cool location, but the main hall doesn’t have a ventilation system which sucks.

I think we should have a WoMble beer together at the vienna show

well, you’re missing something there my friend. i’d say, have a listen to their new album “dante XXI”, it’s their best with derrick green on vocals so far, in my opinion at least.

i’ve seen in flames on their “clayman” tour, dimmu borgir headlined the show. that was the first and best show i’ve seen by them so far. yesterday they were fine again, but after being in the mosh during sepultura, i just watched them from the side, having some beers and some cigarettes meanwhile :p

you’re right about the missing ventilation system …

and you’re right about having a beer at the t? show!!! :D

i’m going by the way.
well, so far i didn’t drive with my car in vienna so i can’t really tell if it’s a problem … the biggest problem is possibly to find a parking space near the venue.
but you can reach the flex easily with the metro (U4) …

well i think i’ll park my car where i sleep (a hostel, i think) and then go there by metro…

i’m coming with my girlfriend and i’, staying there 3 days (i’ve never been in wien)

if the venue isn’t too big you can easily identify me and (much more) my girlfriend. i can’t speak a word of german!!

so if you find a drunk italian guy:cool:, it’s me, and lets have a beer!!
i’ll probably wear a “DEROZER” t-shirt

oh, just a question,
do you suggest to buy ticket before i go there?

I don’t think tickets should be a problem but it can never do harm to buy it in advance. ;)

If you don’t now the venue and the parking situation around it it’s definitely more recommendable to go there by underground (U4 - Schottenring). It can be a bit confusing how to get to the Flex. There’s only one way down and to get there you have to cross some dangerous streets, so get ready for some stress.

The venue is small but a bit shitty to be honest. I still like it better than Planet Music where T? played twice in the past.

just booked the hostel!

i’m staying in the wombats hostel - the lounge. quite cheap for a double bed room with PRIVATE BATHROOM  (in a hostel? wow) 24€ per person…

looking at the map it’s quite near to the old city…

unfortunately i have to go there by car cause train is too expensive!!! (one way ticket is about 60€ per person!!!)

see ya there!!!!!

So who’s gonna be in the flex for tonight’s rock extravaganza?

I’ll be wearing my rather worn out red irony? shirt. if you happen to see me, dont’t be shy and we’ll *maybe* have a drink ;)

see you tonight.

What do you think?

I think it was a bit of a strange gig. Some songs really worked with the crowd. Others just didn´t. Especially the new ones. Nice to see neck freak live, but a bit disapointing to only hear the first chorus and verse of femtex and not the whole song during potato junkie.

Anyone has the set list? Opened with sprung, ended with potato junkie.

Not the worst gig, but not the best either i saw.

Blinding gig yesterday! Great sound, the crowd was well up for it, the new songs rocked and the lads had a good time on stage.

It was nice to meet some other WoMbles and the t? boys as well at the bar just to have some beer together.
Carlo’s (Infernal Lover) girlfriend took a couple of pics with us and the band, hopefully they’re any good, so that you all can enjoy our ugly faces :)

setlist (not in order) as I couldn’t get a list from the stage:

outro+sprung
lose it all
dsa
our white noise
rain hits concrete
fear of god
walk through darkness
polar bear
rock you monkeys
rust
if it kills me
stories
diane (fast rock version)
knives
screamager
nowhere
die laughing
isolation /w she’s lost control
accelerator
teethgrinder
neck freak
potato junkie /w california uber alles and femtex thrown in

I think that’s about it. All in all agreat night out :)

I saw Andy & Michael standing at the bar, walked up to them and asked them if I could pay a round. Unfortunately, I completely forgot how to speak English all of a sudden and made a complete ass out of myself just standing there blabbering things like: “you guys are fantastic! great show!” God, that was awkward. Anyway, Andy was a totally sweet guy, shook my hand twice and thanked me for the kind words. God bless him. And the Evil Priest. And the Coop.

yep, it was nice meeting you. see ya next time i guess, moshing in the front rows again … :D

btw, you forgot “turn” in the setlist …

the gig was great and i think the lads were quite satisfied with the audience. at least it looked like they had fun! michael was in pretty good mood and jumped around like in the old days.

that support band sucked pretty bad by the way. don’t know how they got that gig …

The gig was good, but didn´t you notive the lag of attention, when they played stuff from OCFA? the usual strangers are always going for it in the first rows. I turned around a few times. It wasn´t that great crowd i must say!

But they played a good show, Micheal jumped and everything, no matter what. Don´t get me wrong the crowd was not shit, but most people where there for the troublegum stuff :(

yeah, but it’s been that way in Austria ever since the SPYF tour. The Planet Music gigs sucked, but not because the band was bad, but because the audience wasn’t actually familiar with the new stuff anymore. I mean, I love “Die Laughing”, “Nowhere” and “Femtex” (good surprise, that one) just as much as the next guy, but can’t we just embrace those great new songs, too?

i remembered the gig on their SD tour in the szene wien, where andy was stage diving (i think during knives)

i think flex is a shitty venue for bands like therapy? the sound of such bands is too heavy for their PA. i never liked the sound or the venue “flex”. i never really understood, why so many people like the flex so much. its expensive, the air is shit, the security is shit too … i don´t get it

Yeah, I couldn’t agree more about the Flex.

The song Andy was crowd surfing to was “The Boy’s Asleep”, I think. That moment was perfect. It’s so sad that they don’t play S-D stuff anymore.

yeah it was one of their best gigs on forestglade, short before SD came out! there were still not the real lyrics on “Tightrope Walker” and they played the chorus even without lyrics. Great set with skyward and innocent X in it. in that time T? was headlining the forestglade festival and they played after placebo. Imagine that today :)
Andy destroying his guitar at the end of the set. I think this was a really special gig.

But Forestglade 95 was great too. They had a own bar on stage where michael did drink two tequilas after every song. Was evil to watch :)

Sometimes i miss these times …
