Kerrang April 15

#

Started by MoldenWibe

OCFA is the number 1 album on the Decks of Doom section (what is playing in the kerrang office)… and is simply referred to as ‘Awesome’…

Must track down some reviews of the album…

Considering kerrang are owned by smash hits its safe to assume they are outright shit.

They are no better than all the pop magazines, rating trite new shite emo bands as great and normally forgetting about all the decent bands.

Any “rock” magazine that actually accepts fightstar as a real band has no credibility in my eyes, there no better than nme

Who gives a fuck whether Kerrang? features shite bands or panders to boyband-metal fans? A favourable review is still good news for T? as it’ll help sell more records.

That is a good thing, no denying that, but it would be nice if T? were regular features rather than al the hype bands.

I remember when staind were a regular hype, and on the front cover it was all dramatic.

“Golf saved our lives”

the article, we were a bit stressed and played some golf and now we feel a bit better.

Fair enough, I’m just bored of people whining on about magazines (usually Kerrang?/NME). For T?, any positive publicity is good news…and seeing as Kerrang?’s readership probably buy more rock CDs than any other demographic I’d say it’s very good news.

Yeah, likewise.

Therapy? have had a few mentions recently, and always get a good review in Kerrang! which has to be good. (Although Rain Hits Concrete has been missed). There is also a small ad in this week for the T? london show which has a footnote about RHC.

BTW, not that it should impact to much, but Fall Out Boy are playing London on May 25th as well and some friends of mine were gonna come to T? but already had FOB tickets. Bit annoying.

They have given all their albums good reviews to be fair, although in some cases they turn coat later.

Like shameless, got blinding reviews when it came out but they slag it off now.

High anxiety did well and so did nane, it would be nice to see them in more music mags all round, gettingthe respect they are fully due, not just in kerrang, cos lets face it, if they got a bad review, no t? fan would read that and think im not buying it then, they would say what do kerrang no and buy it anyway.

i know i would.

I never buy stuff based on reviews

Kerrang! have always wrote about the band of the moment, regardless of whether they are shit or not. It’s what sells copies.

20 years ago they were doing it with bands of the moment like Metallica, and for the kids these days the band of the moment are the likes of MCR, fall out boy etc…

I’m afraid, a cover story on T? is not going to sell copies, like they would have done 10 years ago.

exactly.

Its a shame but what can you do, they are luckily there fanbase is strong enough that they havent had to dissapear into obscurity like say, my vitriol.

I know they played a gig a year or two ago but nothings happened since. Anyone remember the band cay?

They were really good but they got dumped by there record label and were never heard from since.

Therapy are still here, and thats something to be grateful for.

I used to love My Vitriol but I saw Cay live a couple of times and thought that they blew.

T? Have done well to stick at it and I think that is as much to do with the band members willingness to personally invest in the group rather than let it die, and I mean blood sweat and tears as well as ££££

I had a pair of them when I was 16 (12 years ago) and in a thrash metal phase, and did anyone think I looked cool? No, they just laughed at me. My legs looked like black pipe cleaners. :)
