Do you like classic cars?

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I have made a website for my brother, for his 30th birthday, about his 1967 Ford Mustang V8 Convertible. If you happen to like classic Mustangs, or are just curious about the site, check it out!

Cheers, Rene.

I must say that you’re quite partial to a certain style of website! I like how you used the IE 5.5 option of changing the color of the scroll bars to match the page. It’s a shame that it doesn’t work on every browser.

I should probably show the site to my dad. My family has been in the car business for a good 70 years. We owned a Ford dealership since 1921, and my dad used to own a business that dealt with classic Mustangs. I was never aware that they were popular in Europe as well..I kind of thought of them as a stricly American type car.

erm, not really into cars at all,… ever. They go places, sometimes they crash and sometimes they’re shiny. I can’t get that excited. Sorry.

Thanks for your responses!

Yeah, Brendon, it is indeed the same style, but I get a lot of positive reactions to my site, so I thought, why change the style completely! It has its own look though I think..

Quite a coincidence that your family has been in the car business for so long, and dealt with classic Mustangs.. Let me know if your dad has seen it and what he thought of it.

These kind of cars are pretty popular in Europe indeed. There are a lot of classic car meetings (both all american, and brand/type specific) and quite a lot of clubs also.

did u kno, in england, there are more military vehicles in private hands than in the army, air force and navy put together? it’s just cos of loads of collecters and stuff. I’ve got an ex-raf lightweight series III landy which is the same age as me, and still runs like a new car. they’re marvellous, and best of all, if you should have the misforutne to crash, at least your only gonna need a new paintjob. My dad bent the front bumper (fender to americans) about a year ago because he slid into a tree in heavy mud and rain up in some local woods. the bumper itself is 3’ thick and made of aluminium, and it had bent round as far as the tyre, so he just moved the front wheels out of the way and hit it and pounded it back into shape with a sledgehammer, then cut down the tree with a handy chainsaw and carried on. They just have this magic about them that affects people differently I spose.

Deekoi—we call fenders ‘bumpers’ in America too.

Rene- I agree with you. If it ain’t broke (the website design that is), don’t fix it. I haven’t shown the site to my dad yet, but I’ll email him the URL. Right now he’s working with the British car company AC to distribute their cars in the US. It’s nice, because they sent him a $100,000 car for free, which I got to drive around town a few times. We’ve owned several Mustangs over the course of my lifetime (not that I ever got to drive any of those). I myself still prefer European cars.

I owned a Mustang a few years back. I had to sell it due to money problems but it was real smooth and if I had the money I’d take it back right now! Rene, the website’s good, I like the style, you shouldn’t change it.

A friend of mine has a ‘75 Ford Ranchero which is some sort of a pickup. I myself own a VW Polo. We figured out that my car would fit nicely of both the back and the hood of his car. I like classic cars, but I prefer old motorcycles like my ‘76 Suzuki GS750 (come to that: I think the Ranchero would fit on the back of my bike. It’s huge and heavy)
