Been listening to this solid for about 24hrs now and on the whole I’m loving it.
The only thing that is stopping this being a real stand out for me is that I find some of the courses irritatingly repetitive!
On the whole though a great CD :)

If it makes you feel better the back cover says: “it’s all made special for you”
Yeah, but in the same place on the back of NANE, it says ‘It could be worse, I could be you.’ ;)
Wasn’t Play On dedicated also to the WoMbles anyway?

I am sure many will disagree with me, but I cannot be one of these people who blindly evangelises about a band, just to be seen as a “proper fan”. I’m still a fan of the band, of course I am. Just a little disappointed and… here we go again, … underwhelmed… by this album.
Personally, I usually find that I struggle with T? albums at first, and then they get under my skin and I love them - which is how it always works with me with a great album. So, it doesn’t worry me too much that after a day I am not overwhelmed by OCFA, but I must admit I do have my misgivings about the production..Very dodgy mix, don’t know why they would choose to bury the drums like that, it detracts from the tightness, I think.
It took me months to like NANE and now I think it’s the best thing they ever did, a masterpiece, so we’ll see how I feel after a while!

hey. gotta say i agree with alot thats been said. yes it sound maybe too ‘polished’ for some and yes the lyrics arnt the finest ever. but the album seems brighter and less snarly thah nane. and thats not a bad thing, its a good thing that each album has an identity. this one sounds like babyteeth tryin to eat semi-d, but at the sametime fresher and suitably placed.and as far as i care a great burfday prezzie!
cheers t?
stay happy!;)

At last, HMV had it in stock. Bought a copy for a reasonable tenner, and played it as soon as I got home, and boy I wasn’t disappointed.
Deluded Son has to be my favourate track on the album, whilst Walk Through Darkness has a Husker Du feel to it. Concrete Hits Rain was a top track, so was DSA.
I’ve only heard it once, but can’t wait to play it again.

Hi everybody,
Well, what do you think about the new T? One Cure Fits All?
I’m listening to it once more. It’s cool.
I think it’s a very interesting album. Successfull.
Have you hear the sound as well ?
Have you hear the wealth of the music agreements/chords ?
Aaargh yeah I hope all of us feel bass lines and drums too as well…
Don’t you think Hoockloobster could make a new pool like “choose your 5 fav new songs”

Every song - over and over and over again!
Is it just me?
Music wise their best in a while but the repetitive lines are slightly killing the enjoyment!

Dunno,
Feel that Andy has the ability to say more while repeating the same line over and over than other artists with a full song of lyrics - man, love the way he can write a song where the music sounds upbeat, yet the lyrics downtrodden…

Just read this whole thread again and it’s really interesting how everyone has reacted differently to this album.
I think that those who think it is weak compared to NANE need to remember that T? change their sound every album, therefore there is an adjustment period, give it time.
To those who have a problem with the repetative lyrics: I think it was a mistake to put the lyrics on this site before the album was released. People became aware of the repetition before hearing the songs, and became preoccupied with it. I think the boys have specifically gone for an atmospheric, chugging, and droning style (see Andy’s song descriptions) to the album (dare I say with some stoner rock influences?), and I’m loving it!
As for the problems people are having with production, I think again this is partly due to this different style of song structure, but I personally think the drums sound fantastic! There are some points where they fade away a bit, but could this not be done on purpose to emphasise their sound when they come back in?
The bottom line is this: Nearly everyone is loving this album overall, just imagine how much it would suck if the album was a pile of shit!
Here’s to the tour!

I don’t think it sounds much at all like Semi Detached, as that is my favourite Therapy album and OCFA isn’t even close so far. Fair enough there are some more immediate songs on it, but if anything it’s quirky, and that makes me think that it’s the slightly more melodic cousin of shameless and suicide pact.
I’m yet to be convinced, but I’ve certainly been wrong before.

Related to Shameless and SPYF???
Are you on smack????
For me it has “elements” of Nurse (indie feel, Angst), Semi-Detached (Feelgood vibe in some of the tracks) and Troublegum (guitar sound).
Explain how you find it close to Shameless and SPYF - not mocking, just interested ;)
