In flames and soilwork I totally dislike. But there’s plenty of good stuff in Sweden and especially Finland. I used to listen to The Crown and The Forsaken but now they bore me, Dismember is still okay and Entombed has some cool stuff.

Amorphis are great, their early doom/death stuff as well as their latest proggy psychedelic deathrockmetal album.

Hellacopters and Turbonegro (they’re Norse) are cool rockers.

Both countries also house large amounts of grind/punk/crust/skate/hc type of noisy filth encrusted motherfuckers. Check your local split 7” dealer for that.

Bit of a broad genre, ‘Scandinavian bands’! But I really like:

At The Gates
Emperor
Dissection
Satyricon
Burzum

and probably some other evil stuff I’ve forgotten about.

Well, Romy’s already mentioned ABBA.

The original Hanoi Rocks was great!: all those albums from the first to the last. This new “Hanoi”line up had a couple of great tunes on their “comeback” album Twelwe shots on the rocks but the second from this line up is full of…IMO and that´s my IMO:)
Michael´s solowork is much, much better than tis new Hanoi stuff!

not heard much of the new stuff. the song they released off twelve shots on the rocks , a day late a dollar short was a great tune i thought.

the originall albums were excellent stuff though , i bought the box set lightning bar blues really cheap and was not dissapointed :)

and don´t forget Finnish HC/Crust/punk bands like LAMA, Terveet Kädet (still around, more metal these days), Kaaos, Bastards, Riistetyt (still around), Kuolleet Kukat, Appendix (still around)etc. etc. Most of those bands I mentioned are still huge cult in Brazil, USA and Germany amondg other countries. Even Metallica and Max Cavalera from Soulfly (ex Sepultura) guys have listened to Kaaos and Terveet Kädet in their “childhood”.
Smack was a great band; Curt Cobain (RIP) liked it a lot and gave them respect in media.
Peer Gunt and Nights Of Iguana were great Finnish band too.
