The Bends or OK Computer?

And don’t start with “Kid A”, “Amnesiac” or “Hail To The Thief”. We all know that these two are the best Radiohead albums. FACT!

(Before changing the message boards’ software in August 2007 this discussion contained a poll, which may return in the future)

I prefer Pablo Honey above OK Computer and every other album you named but I voted for The Bends. Your “facts” are a bit unfounded.

I like The Bends, but it’s too predictable. OK Computer is a classic, and I have it on vinyl, because i’m cool.

I’m still looking for Kid A on 10”, but the price is high.

No preference - depends what mood I’m in. The Bends is more of a cheerful morning LP, OK Computer a moody evening one.

Yes, I’ve always looked at it like this, too, although I thought of “The Bends” as a summer record and “OK Computer” as the winter record.

if this were a poll of the best radiohead album ever, i’d actually go for neither the bends or ok computer. but between the two i’d go for the bends.

i think if they’d released kid a and amnesiac as one album but cut out the shit bits on them, that would’ve been the best album by a long shot.

YOU ARE!!! :p

i love how people just won’t accept the new radiohead. Its pure ignorance.

KID A is the best radiohead album, followed closely by ok computer. The bends is oveerated, and whoever said pablo honey is just trying to be controversial. :D

Hail to the thief is a cracking album too.

Dan, as far as indie snobbery goes you make me seem like a chav!

Kid A is under-rated in an experimental kind of way, though it does pale into insignificance compared to The Bends.

:D I just take this kind of thing FAR too seriously! :D

There are some things i just can’t leave alone!

The thing with the Bends is that yes, brilliant album, but there are still weak tracks. Bullet proof and nice dream are pretty forgettable. And personally i am sick to death of street spirit and just. Fake plastic trees is genius. But overall i don’t feel the album flows that well. OK Computer does, but then that has a dodgy song too (climbing uo the walls), but for me KID A is a complete album. Its a mood piece, and everything just “fits”. Its not often in this day and age that a band, especially a band as big as radiohead, just chuck out an album with no singles, and its all the better for it. It reminds me of Dark side of the moon, not musically, but the way its just a complete piece of music. If that makes sense?!

Would that album’s tracklisting look something like this?

1. Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box
2. Everything In Its Right Place
3. The National Anthem
4. Pyramid Song
5. Knives Out
6. You & Whose Army
7. Morning Bell (Kid A-Version)
7. How To Disappear Completely
8. Optimistic
9. Idioteque
10. I Might Be Wrong
11. Motion Picture Soundtrack

Radiohead are the only band to have NEVER made a disappointing album. Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Theif are every bit as good, if not better than OK Computer or The Bends. pablo Honey has a few good tracks, but it’s best to be avoided. And the less said about Pop is Dead the better.

SPINNING PLATES AND KNIVES OUT- c’mon at LEAST those two. I actually prefer Amnesiac to Kid A…

I admire Kid A because it is just so full of new ideas and totally different and was such a brave career move. However that doesnt make it enjoyable. It is okay really.
The vocals on Kid A are lke a stuck record and they are so annoying. A good record cant have bad vocals.
OK computer I’ve got but hardly even listen to which says it all.

I’ve voted for The Bends of course. OK computers also very good and i do like Pablo Honey. After OK computer i did buy the albums and listened to them once or twice and put them away in a drawer after that.

I’ve seen them twice on festivals, the first time was perfect, couldn’t have been better. It was after a whole weekend of rain, when they started it had just stopped raining and Thom came on in a oversized bright yellow rainsuit and started singing Creep. I still get goosebumps thinking about that time… It was just before they released OK computer i think, or perhaps they had just released it. The second time was a few years ago and the concert was good, but as i said i don’t really like most of the Kid A and Amnesiac songs.

Possibly i’m going to see them on another fesival this summer and i heard they went back to playing a bit more like their old style, so i’m hoping it will be great again :)

(hmm, this has become my longest post ever on these boards now)
