‘Soundtracks For The Blind’ is one of the best records I’ve ever heard. So bleak, yet so epic and magnificent.

Hurrah! Yes, an excellent album. What other stuff have you heard? I started with Soundtracks… and Children of God, and then started buying up the reisuues.
An infrequent pleasure, but a pleasure nonetheless.

Just ‘soundtracks…’. Tracked it down on Amazon for a mere fiver on the marketplace.

I was looking for some Ambient, minimalist stuff, and came across this. Alot of it is, and it builds into something amazing.

Like ‘The Sound’. :) If it’s the ambient stuff you like, you should stick to their later stuff. Whatever you might call their earlier stuff, it’s not ambient! :D (There are stories of them playing so loud that it made people physically throw up).

Really? I’ll steer clear then :p

About the ilness, thats pretty crazy. The album makes me feel pretty nauseous after listening to the album, some tracks really are bleak…It’s scary.

The dance track (volcano?), is it ironic? I’m not sure, I’m new to the band!

Yeah, it does make a good job of making you feel generally ill, doesn’t it? The samples on the album are apparently genuine, too, by the way.

I’d say Volcano was ironic, yeah, but it’s hard to tell with them. ;)

I’ve had a look at it, looks cool. Nice insight into the band.

The guy in the band has had a pretty fucked up childhood, dealing drugs in Europe as a teenager… I’m sure some of these experiences have inspired some of the dark stuff they write.

It’s hard to imagine M Gira ever being happy, though. ;)
