New Slayer album named.

#

Started by matthew

The new Slayer album is to be called Christ Illusion and has artwork done by the same guy who did seasons in the abyss, south of heaven and reign in blood. It has a picture of christ with his arms missing and walking through a bloody mess of heads. And there seems to be some type of ship behind him in my opinion.
I’m excited about the new album although I know actually very little about their music, I only have diabolus and enjoy it immensely.
My question is if Tom is a solid Catholic why the fuck does he put up with the bullshit anti christ sentiments of Kerry King all the time. Doesnt he have a voice? Since the beginning of Slayer the lyrics were mainly written by Kerry and Jeff and it always includes the bulshit antichrist slant.
Why dont they have the balls to rip off judaism or buddhism or whatever?
I lke the fact that they stick to writing sick stuff because the tone of their music is just that, sick, but why the constant “God hates us all” bullshit. Was Kerry sexually assaulted by a priest? Whhere do they get that incredible hate from?

And another thing I have heard from the press that the guys from Slayer added satanism to sell more records. Isnt this a bit pathetic?

Do you mean is it pathetic that the press wrote that? Or that it’s pathetic of Slayer?

Or is it pathetic you believe what you read in the press?

Devout Slayer fan? Not at all. I only have “Reign In Blood”.

Just a little strange that you believed the satanism thing without asking any Slayer fans here if it was true.

I can’t understand why Slayer are still banging on about religion either. I have met devout Christians who go on about it less.

If you don’t follow a religion, why give a toss what it preaches and what it tells you to do? Just do what the rest of us do and ignore it

well, considering you’ve waited 60 odd years to tell us this, no. If you’d have said something at the time you could’ve won an entire nation. Still, if that had of been the case, then MY dog would have had to have killed you.

The cover is a cross between South of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss. Pretty good, though I do think Slayer ran out of ideas years ago.

In saying that, can’t wait to see them in Cardiff.

Terrorizer is the ONLY reliable metal magazine. The only true, entertaining or reasonably priced one, too.

From what I have heard of Kerry King in interviews, Slayer feel that fans want to hear satanism and antichristian stuff in the lyrics and imagery, so that is what they get.

Whether you call that “selling out for an easy buck” or “giving the fans what they want” depends on your point of view, I guess.

Thats what I don’t understand about them!!

If your a christian you should stand up for what you believe in, and not let others (in this case Kerry King) write songs that are against everything you stand for.

If I was him I’d have left the band a long time ago, he doesn’t have to stick with that bullshit, he’s good enough (I’m sure) to make his own band and be successful, while making music that doesn’t go against him and everything he stands for!
