I thought his acoustic performance on Jonathan ross was pretty good.

To be honest mate it was a lot of complicated picking at times, and some interesting chords i was impressed as i didn’t really think he could play.

I’m still not a fan of them.

who gives a shit? there are thousands of people who can sing and play guitar better than Noel Gallagher (and i’m not saying that Noel is shit either)…your point being?
I’m not having a go, but what did that comment have to do with anything that was being discussed, it’s just a random statement.

Nah - it’s just that people seem to love Libertines when quite clearly oasis are far better musicians, yet they get all the shit.
I dont think people will still remember any libertines songs in 10 years
But people still know all the oasis hits 10 years on.
My point being that Babyshambles seem to get a lot of praise for being absolutely awful, whilst oasis have great songs that people remember and yet they get all the crap from people.

I get your point, I think Oasis get lots of shit like Metallica or any other band that had some huge albums then then did two rather poor ones..the music industry and public are very fickle and just zone in and remember the bad ones and ignore any good ones that have came out after.
Green day for instance got almost forgotten but they didn’t really do a bad album after Dookie..i actually prefer Insomniac… it seems to take an album to go supernova and the music industry to make them bum chums for anyone to give a band some praise again after a lull.

True…but isn’t it always the way that your fave albums by any given band are the ones the band/ fans hate and the ones you think are weaker are the ones everyone w*nks themselves off over? :D

How dare people listen to Libertines, when you consider Oasis better? The cheek of it.
Some people have grown up with the Libertines and now Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things. It’s already been 4 years since Up The Bracket and I still hear Time For Heroes (and 50 people singing along) in clubs.
Are Oasis really doing much exciting right now, musically or otherwise? Doherty’s like a soap opera. It appeals to people, it’s the exact definition of pop culture, and that is what is going to be carried forward.
Same debate in 10 years with Libertines replacing Oasis.
(For the record I’m neutral to both)

Not slagging off Oasis here, just saying that big ernormo tours don’t make for a good band.
Still, that Babyshambles video sucks big time! What a load of shite!
