Bread - Once and for all…

#

Started by Gav

No, not a debate on the Boswell family from Liverpool, but to settle this silly debate once and for all.

This is obviously a Sausage and Bacon Buttie - but what is the bread based product that it comes served in called?

(Before changing the message boards’ software in August 2007 this discussion contained a poll, which may return in the future)

But it will be interesting to see what f**king ridiculous laughable lies everyone else comes up with!

And for the last time it can’t be a teacake because IT DOESN’T HAVE ANY CURRANTS IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My instinctive response was “bap”, so I’ll have to go with that…though I’m tempted by “breadcake”.

A small one is a teacake, a larger version is an oven bottom. Go in a shop round here and ask for anything different and you might get a slap.

Butty just means sandwich. Unless it’s got chips in, because no-one would ever say “chip sandwich” :)

lol :D Come on, own up - who put ‘muffin’? :D

thats a bap or a cob.

If i was given that and told it was a “cake” i would be very disappointed… maybe they told you that is a cake to make you eat it. Also by E.U laws it would cost more as cakes are more expensive.

but who really cares… apart from the ones argueing there point that is:rolleyes:

I think whoever did that was probably thinking of an english muffin, which is a savoury bread product. ;)
*waits for more arguments about what a muffin is*

I’m with the lady on this one.

Cobs are hard, chewy and remain so throughout their ‘journey’

A breadcake would be about the size of a stottie.

It’s all ciabattas down here.

I’m not a big fan of ciabattas - they taste funny and there’s too many airholes. They look like they should taste like bagels, but it’s a trick :(
