Haha, yeah I’ve heard that people in the crowd have literally shit themselves from the low frequencies they play too haha… thanks for the offer about London, but I’m going to see them in Belfast. Hope you have a good one anyway! Remember to bring some toilet roll! ;)

I saw them last night… good God. They were playing in a really small venue that was so dark and full of dry ice you could barely see them… but you sure as hell heard them!

It was kind of like being at an evil mass. Absolutely amazing gig

those vids dont do them any justice.I was 700 people being hypnotised by them.I saw bottles shake their way accross the bar.I saw lights above the stage form pentagrams,I saw people in trances swaying to the sheer volume. The bass shook me all over…Their records dont do them credit. It was so fucking unbelievable!!!The last time they played London, the roff began to crumble in on the audience. The owner of the Hippodrome wasnt sure the structural integrety of the the building would cope with them.It was fucking immense

The gig I was at there were only 60 or 70 people, and at least 10 had to leave “for air” (ie to throw up!)

Check out this pic for evil-ness personified!

I checked out a clip on youtube, and all it seems to be is bass notes held onto for what seems like forever…

is this just a dodgy clip or is this really representative of the band?! Can anyone describe what the Sunn O))) sound is like…?

Here’s their mission statement:

“SUNN 0))) is a side project of Khanate/Burning Witch (Steve O’ Malley) and Goatsnake (Greg Anderson) members. It was formed in memory of the cult drone-riff founders EARTH and honors the beautiful Ozma. The SUNN0))) mission is to create trance like soundscapes with the ultimate low end/bottom frequencies intended to massage the listeners intenstines into a act of defecation. SUNN 0))) have gathered numerous times since their initial two live performances, creating a full time band out of side project and love for all things low end. They have succesfully made audience members instantly nauseous, or better yet run for the toilet in terror.”

Well, what a noble cause, how could anyone criticise them for that?

Either that or, pardon the pun, they are seriously taking the piss.
