strangest T?-gig you’ve been to..

i remember one of the first T?-gigs i went to. it was in 1995 in lund, sweden, and it was very weird but very very good.

what made it so weird was how andy appeared that night. he, as the rest of the band, usually interact with the crowd a lot. but this night he didn’t say a word until after an hour or so, and then he only said one or two words. there was zero communication between the three of them. andy had a really strange look in his eyes, looking completely mad, paranoid, pissed off, drunk, tired.. i don’t know why he was like that (on drugs perhaps? wouldn’t bet against it..) but the gig was excellent! i got it on video and i can’t stop being fascinated every time i watch it..

I guess they weren’t really happy as a band back then. You can hear the differences in the interaction they had back then and the interaction they have since the last couple of years. Just listen at gigs like Bizarre ‘98, Bizarre 2000, Forestglade2K, and also Lowlands ‘98. They have the time of their lives, I think! Especially Michael seems to be on fire on the gigs mentioned. Example: At Lowlands, they asked the audience to come closer. I believe it’s Michael (what a great name, btw…) who starts shouting ‘Joooooin us!’ in a hypnotising voice, and Andy shouts along with him. It’s sounds really funny, I listened to it in the bus yesterday for the first time, and I had a big smile on my face when I listened to it. The other people didn’t have a clue why I was laughing!
I think it’s a very good sign though, they love playing live, and that has a positive influence on the music they make in general. They play with much more enthousiasm and energy when they’re happy with what they’re doing, just listen to Bizarre 2000 and Forestglade2K, those gigs are better than some ‘original’ bootlegs!

only been to one gig (only chance I have had) nothing strange about it from what I saw, joints being rolled, tosser in mosh pit who I heard got decked the year before by people for being a tosser. Usual stuff as far as I know.

The strangest one for me was at pinkpop 94. I saw a left handed drummer play for the first time in my life. And then there was the noise made by only 3. Still hated T? at that time. So that was the strangest I guess.

Was that the time that they thought they were at Rock Am Ring? I heard a story that they played at Pinkpop but they had too much beer, so they said ‘Good evening, Rock Am Ring!’. I thought it was pretty funny actually.

The strangest one I went to was the second night of the Camden Underworld gigs last year. I only went to the soundcheck, had a chat to Garry (Bruno) and Graham about some bloke who tried to nick the dressing room stereo the night before, and then went home. :-)

Barbie please read what i said i’ve only been to one! T? gig so i couldn’t have been decked the year before, i know you probably meant it as a joke (probably) but think a bit more clearly, but a new line all the same.

White Psycho, I have only one thing to say to you - you look hilarious in a hat. For the sake of comedy, please glue it to your head.

I won’t be wearing a hat for a while because it is far too hot now, but i will be when it gets colder so i’ll probably be wearing one at 6 form. I’m also going to see if I can get that jacket off my brother ‘cause I want it!
