acoustic album

What do you think if the next THERAPY?’s album will be acoustic-played ?

While their French Tour, guys played some acoustic versions during shows, it’s been really cool. I hope for that they’ll do the same to next forthcoming shows.

So here is the meaning of my question :
What do you think if T? plays some new-acoustic-played-songs for their new album (between another new rock one of course…) ?

I don’t really like the idea, though I like the acoustic sessions they do, and those acoustic songs during the set in France were also nice.
But I prefere electric albums and shows… Some acoustic tracks would be fine, though only on a bonusdisc or something, not on the same disc. It kind of breaks the power they build up… Same counts for acoustic songs during an electic liveset, althoug they were very nice!

I hope their next one will be another full on electric album, that’s still what they’re do best :)

but just playing acoustic songs isn’t the real thing if it’s going to be a regular album! ok, there are/were artists who did it, but i think it wouldn’t really fit in the concept of therapy? a non-rocking album wouldnt do it, i guess… although even they can rock, but in a different way

And what do you think of the “MTV unplugged” concept?

Alice in chains and Nirvana were undoubtly a grunge metal bands. However their acoustic albums are really great and different!

I hope the same for Therapy?

OH come on, MTV Unplugged?

i dont know much about alice in chains and nirvana, but i know that nirvana never made a brand new record in acoustic form! it’s as you said, mtv unplugged, say a concert, where a band normaly plays excisting/before released material in acoustic form to the crowd.
that’s different to a brand new album with just new songs on it! don’t you think?

but it doesn’t mean that i wouldnt be interessted in an UNPLUGGED or so called-ACOUSTIC album…

@interzone: just have the photek mix, if thats what you mean?

MTV Unplugged is (was?) a Americain tv show where rock bands proposed accoustic versions of their songs.

The Alice in chains acoustic show is purely fantastic.

I agree with you when you say that new material sould be rock, punk et metal!

But a acoustic session of 10-15 tracks would be very cool!

I never heard the session from Alice In Chains, but I liked Nirvana’s unplugged session.

Releasing unplugged studio albums (not b-sides) is more something for old farts… :p

I would like to SEE T? do one (a new DVD maybe?) but i don’t think i’d buy a CD of it cos i already have loads of different versions of their popular songs.

An brand new one stripped down would be cool, i reckon they could pull it off. ;)

I’d prefer new songs not reworked old ones. T? have done a lot of this kind of stuff for b sides. Works good live though - as long as they don’t start having a little stage in the middle of the audience like with Rolling Stones! ha ha

Meh, in Extreme’s defense, the rest of their stuff sounded nothing like that except for maybe one other song. They were generally electric and a lot better than that awful song.

I kind of like the idea of Therapy? releasing some kind of acoustic EP or something like Alice In Chains did with Sap back in the early ’90s. They just recorded 4 songs, pressed them onto CD, and put it in stores with no promotion to see if anyone would buy it as sort of an in-between-album something to do. Now it’s considered a classic.

I think Therapy? could probably do something similar and make it pretty interesting. But I like the idea of it being an EP. A full album might be too much.

After and whatever all considerations, why not something similar and “lighter” than a full album. The very first meaning of this thread was in an in-between-album, somethong like this.
