Peeping Tom- Peeping Tom
Therapy?- One cure fits all
Ministry- Rio Grande Blood
Dub Trio- New Heavy

Jim Bob - School

Fuck I wanted to get that buzzcocks album.. i take it it’s really good then? I loved their early albums but didn’t take much interest when they reformed untill I saw them live.

I mean, I know it wasn’t released this year, but isn’t it the law that OK Computer HAS to come top in any Best Album poll, regardless of merit or qualification…?

Tom Waits - Orphans… not really an album, but it’s the release of the year

James Dean Bradfield - The Great Western… got me all excited about MSP again, even about “Life Blood”

Eels - With Strings… or was this 2005? Whatever, it’s a great album.

Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam… not great, that’s for sure, but the best thing they’ve done since “No Code”.

Tool - 10.000 Days… more of the same, but that’s okay. For now.

Badly Drawn Boy - Born In The U.K… haven’t had it long enough to say how good it really is. Right now I rather like it.

Ben Kweller - Ben Kweller… no “Sha Sha”, but I really like this songwriter.

Solomon Burke - Nashville… legend.

Still need to check out the latest albums by Mastodon, Deftones, The Who, Adem, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Joanna Newsom, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and The Lemonheads.

Albums that are good but not as great as I was hoping they would be:

Peeping Tom - Peeping Tom

Billy Talent - II

Ron Sexsmith -Time Being

Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - Ballad Of Broken Seas

Johnny Cash - American V… actually it’s better than I feared, but Rick Rubin should stop releasing further Cash stuff NOW!

yes, and even “One Cure Fits All” belongs in that category, I’m afraid.

And why do I even bother about:

Audioslave
Helmet

I don’t think I’ve bought much this year, but

OCFA - T?
Sam’s Town - The Killers (takes at least 5 plays before you get it)
Black Holes & Revelations - Muse
The Open Door - Evanescence

That’s possibly all I’ve bought!

Very poor crop this year - I normally have a list as long as my arm.

OK Computer is probaby the best album out this year.

I hope you’re taking the piss! If you’re not sorry but i refuse to join the Look-at-how-cool-i-am-i-rate-okcomputer-as-the-best-album-ever-cos-im-like-sooooo-cool -and-intelligent Gang.

Kasabian - Empire
Keane - Under The Iron Sea
JDB - The Great Western
Mastodon - Blood Mountain

are albums of the year to me. And most of them are indie, thats terrible! What has happened to rock n roll lately…its become so over-produced and boring!

still managed to bolster my collection with a few good additions though (in no order):
Powerman 5000 - Destroy what you enjoy
Buckcherry - 15
(hed)PE - Back 2 Base X (best one for 5 years!)
pitchshifter - None for all & all for one
Breed 77 - En Mi Sangre (in my blood)
T? - OCFA (+ the RHC EP - well worth the money!)
Fu Manchu ‘Hung out to Dry EP’ - its not out yet but i’ve heard one song and its more like the old stuff, which is good in my book!
actually, maybe it wasnt as bad as i first thought,
I guess i’m just disappointed monster magnet didnt manage to get their album done :(

No, coz its extremely over rated :). What is so great about that album that makes it better than The Bends, which in my opinion is far superior.

Mastodon - Blood Mountain.
