Title: Oh dear Morrissey.

I think Morrissey must be a bit sad. The UK should give our entry from last year, Daz Sampson, a try again. Definitely worth laugh.

not that kind of guy (Richard) wrote:

morrissey is the ideal UK candidate for a eurovision entry surely. he represents the UK more than gina g or that twat from last year ever did. and i love him obviously.

by the way, this is all a rumour based upon moz slating last years entry, it’s never going to happen.

and Dennis, you should know better.

Winning it?

I don’t think Eurovision would really raise his profile that much - he’s not a struggling artist (His albums sell well worldwide and he fills venues everywhere he tours - he packed the GMEX two nights in a row last month - i was there!)

He is hardly going to appeal to the kids, and most adults will have an opinion of the guy anyway (he’s like marmite, you either love him or hate him)… Hell - I read somewhere that one fan said he would sell his entire collection if he did Eurovision

What I am trying to say is, it isn’t going to make or break his career… I recon he’s just fucking with people.

Don’t get carried away here , all it is is a bit of a PR by a national broadcaster for an event that badly needs some publicity.

Not surprising if you know who’s girlfriend is doing the publicity for some of the entries… ;)

I think for Morrissey, the point of doing it would be more to do with the link it has with Sandie Shaw, an idol of his, and also the fact that he’d probably find it a bit subversive to have someone like him on Eurovision.
Plus one of his recent videos was a pastiche of Eurovision, so he is not “selling out” i.e. doing it just for the money, he clearly has a genuine interest in it, whether that makes him a sad git or not is a matter of opinion of course!
