who’s broken their new years resolution already?

#

Started by not_that_kind_of_guy (a story on the radio)

amazingly i seem to have kept my new years resolution so far (i.e to not get drunk). who’s failed and who’s still battling with theirs?

and if you don’t make them, then don’t bother saying “well, i gave up making new years resolutions because blah blah”.

@ spaceball 1: don’t worry about that mate, if that were my new years resolution, i would have broken it just by being in the company that i was with. which would have meant that i’d have broken it less than a nanosecond after i’d made it.

Mine is to excercise more and eat healthier.

I started by walking for 2 and a half hours straight last night without stopping.

I’m doing good at my resolutions.

I promised to change banks to one with a decent ethical policy, and I’ve done that.

I promised to stop smoking (again  ) on January 5th and I’ve done that.

I promised to walk at least either to or from work (partially for health and partially because I hate our bus service and am loathed to give them any cash) and I’m doing that.

Huzzah for me :D

Both!… eh, but the resolution was for the book :o

Some days I only manage to write about 50 words, other days 3 hundred or so… done a little over 2000 words so far. It’ll take a very long time to finish if I keep going like that

Mine was to:

A) become closer to my family

B) eat 10% less

(Eating 10% less instead of drastic amounts means it tricks your body into not becoming more efficient and you lose weight better.)

so far working out well

I think it’s really sweet that you want to get closer to your family :) Unless you’re already close to your family, in which case it’s weird and a bit scary ;)

I’m not allowed to harp on about how I couldn’t be arsed to make any, it says so at the top :(

You could have made a resolution not to make any resolutions. Then you could talk about it and instantly break it at the same time. That’s what I was going to do, but I never got round to it.
Maybe next year. :(

I could make a resolution not to let you keep your resolutions :) Then when you fail we both win by default.

I think.

*resolves to stop thinking*

*accidentally revolves instead of resolving*

*resolves to stop revolving*

I didn’t make any resolutions, so it’s going to be a bit hard for you to stop me.

Didn’t make any resolutions as such but thought it would be nice to cut down on the drinking a bit.
Didn’t even make it over the first hurdle ( New Year’s Day )so might start over again soon.

I’m doing okaaaaaaaay.

1) Go to the gym on a Monday (rather than saying I would and then not). No more rubbish excuses. I’ve stuck to it so far.

2) Keep more of an eye on my finances. Kinda failed, but I know I went overdrawn last month. Trying to keep it in check.

3) Career review in March. Am pestering my boss for a payrise. Don’t ask, don’t get.

4) Not get distracted at work. FAILED. I’m posting here aren’t I?
