But it’s such a tragic song. :( Used to be one of my favourites… Or, at least, the one that my relatives would make me sing over and over and over again, because it (and I) was cute. :(
Let’s kill that fucking bird.
What is it with parents and grannies and aunties?
I was made to sit on the stairs of my Grans house singing “Halfway Up The Stairs” (the sad sounding song by Kermit the frog’s nephew. Think his name was Robin) when I was about 3. Then, when i was about 13, I brought first girlfriend to a family party and the vicious old witches couldn’t wait to embarrass me by telling her all about it!!

*shrugs* Because she’s not a band or an artist? Or else because we’re chit-chatting about her personal life rather than - god help us - talking about her music.
:)

I didn’t know who you were talking about, so looked her up in Wiki.
“While the song had obvious chart success, critics have pointed out oddities in both the lyrics and the title of the song. For example, the title includes the unlikely pairing of hippie and punk styles- the former was a major movement until the early years of the seventies only, while the punk movement is generally agreed to have begun slightly later, circa 1975. Both groups held vastly different attitudes towards life and the establishment and the punk “revolution” can be viewed as a rebellion away from hippie culture. [1] The explanation for this comes in the lyrics to the chorus:
I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair
In ‘77 and ‘69, revolution was in the air
I was born too late to a world that doesn’t care.
Thom is clearly expressing a desire to have been born into a time when revolution was possible and when people cared enough to form these movements. It is a statement against the perceived apathy of 2006.”
So there you go, it’s actually all really intelligent…
STILL A SHIT SONG!!!!

Sorry buffalo-boy, Suz is right.
76 revolution was actually in the air, 77 was when it came to mass population.
And the love revolution wasz in full swing by 67, so she’s wrong - you can’t respect naivety like that.
Plus she wouldn’t know a footballer from the seventies, if one was plonked right in front of her!!
She’s middle class pretending to be working class. She should just admit she’s middle class & go back to her ABBA records.

Absolutely
Never let it be said that I would ever turn down any woman, or her shoes.
Particularly if she’s bald.

When I take a peek at MTV (yes, I’m desperate to see some new heavy vids) and what comes out from there is just fucking bullshit rap, new wave fucking punk loads of pop crap, and yes, there are always these bands that are trying to be metal and they’re just like bloody clones.
But when there’s Jamelia (crazy cow inside the limo -vid), Jojo (whiny whiny man loves somebody else…shoot her please before I lose my mind), 30 seconds to Mars (marry him and live happily ever after but leave the stage!), AFI (is it just me or does the band sound more like Green Manson; crossover made between Green Day and Marilyn Manson), Evanescense (or Within Temptation, they both are making the same things all the time; lowered guitars, same choruses, same gothic band style, same riffs, same shit in different make-up.) and off course these fucking bling bling rap artists with their cars and bitches and all that money. What if T? was posing in the front of a limo waving with cash in their hands and women moving like they’re blending machines?
I think you got the picture. :D

Yeah but then think of the poor kid. It’s not it’s fault that it’s got multi-millionaire chavs as parents - don’t shot them, STERILISE them instead.
But now she’s gone “fruit-loop” Kevin is more likely than ever to get complete sole custody.
