Hello, I’m the Doctor

Hello all!

I’ve been lurking here for a while, and thought it was about time I introduced myself. I got into Therapy? when Troublegum came out in 1994, but went off them after hearing Infernal Love, which I considered weak. That was it, I thought; until I heard Suicide Pact - You First which rekindled my interest in this band. Amazing album, and still my fave T? album of the ones I own.

Sadly my collection is a bit patchy - the only T? albums I own are Nurse, Troublegum, Infernal Love, Suicide Pact - You First and Never Apologise Never Explain (which I am currently getting into - great, isn’t it?)

But then I am in perhaps the enviable position of still having T? albums to discover - namely Pleasure Death, Babyteeth, Semi-Detached, Shameless and High Anxiety. I’ve formed a general impression of what fans think of these records on this forum, and I am looking forward to catching up!

I have never seen Therapy? live (had the chance once but was otherwise engaged), but mean to rectify this when they tour next year.

I look forward to some interesting discussions on this forum!

Happy times and places,

The Doctor

nah man, william hartnel, the first and the best!!- actually thats not my real opinion, baker is that master, and also the perfect voice to narrate little britain!!

i must say doctor, im not sure i agree that infernal love is weak, a few lows on the album but loose diane epilepsy, stories, these songs rock, seen therapy twice and both times they never played loose, does anyone know if they ever play this live??

oh and welcome doc, although you’ve probably been on longer than me as i only just signed up recently myself!!

I second that, adding in Moment of Clarity.

I’m not really a medical doctor, but if you think your liver is “fucked” I recommend stopping drinking alcohol, cutting down on fatty foods and taking plenty of exercise.

William Hartnell, Tom Baker :) - apparently I’m Christopher Eccleston now. At least he looks cool in that leather jacket, but they’ve got the colour wrong - mine’s black.

I must give Infernal Love another spin, I haven’t heard it for a while and when I look at the track list all that I can bring to mind is the first and second tracks - time for a re-visit, I think!

Happy times and places,

I heartily recommend it. I must admit, I found it to be a little weak when I first heard it, but it grew on me. A little like a fungus.

Title: I’ve been busy

I’ve been very busy recently, you might have seen my exploits on TV.

Anyway I have recently got hold of some Therapy? back catalogue which is currently ROCKIN’ the TARDIS! Though Rose doesn’t approve - she’s more of a Christina Aguilera/Britney Spears fan, but sod her, it’s MY TARDIS and it rocks to the sounds I choose!

In fact, it seems to like “Teethgrinder” when it’s travelling back through time and “Wall of Mouths” when going forward.

That’s all for now! Don’t forget to tune in to my adventures, 19.00, BBC1 Saturdays!

Happy times and places,

The Doctor

Hi Doctor, I know you’re busy, but you really should post more. As for all the Dr.Who references, I don’t get them (don’t have BBC), so I can’t join in all the fun :(

Personally, Infernal Love is one of my faves, although if you’re not too fond of it, you’re in good company. Andy Cairns isn’t a big fan either.
