Did they also play with Courtney Love at this gig???

Title: favourite therapy gig
This one is a toughy…although probably the first time I saw them, which was donington 1993 when I thought they blew Pantera and Sepultura off the stage. When they played Hellbelly, Andy said “therapy have come here to preach!” which was greated by boos and then a chilling backing track of “satan, satan, satan” followed by the opening riff, in a festival atmosphere it kicked ass! Other than that, I remember being stuck in wales on national gridlock day, having travelled 9 hours to see them at a dodgy student union in aberystwith! That was a great gig

The time they played Newcastle Riverside, promoting my favourite album (SD). Can’t remember many specific details, but it was T?, playing loads of ‘doundtrack of your life’ type stuff, including ‘The Boy’s Asleep’ (am sure Alan or Dr Bigjoint will tell me if I’m confused here), and it was just a complete ji-de-vivre (spelling aside) occassion.

I’ve just checked through my ticket collection and yes I was apparently there in 98, and I can remember being delighted that they replaced the truly awful Quorn! I actually remember the stage curtains coming loose during the set and covering andy. He also wore a pair of jeans with some shocking turn-ups

Yeah, they closed the set with The Boy’s Asleep, and we got High Noon in the encore with Andy on drums!

I was once in a Korn tribute band called Quorn, it mainly involved drinking beer and not playing any music, much the same as Korn should’ve been doing :D

belfast ulster hall 1995 was my first ever gig - therapy? were amazing (especially fyfe). joyrider were brilliant too, but ash were shockingly bad as they can be from time to time.
i think the dvd recording at the mandella hall was probably better though, setting nostalgia to one side. pity joyrider didn’t reform and open up again!

Title: merged thread
I’m gutted. Why? Cause Therapy? are playing Newport later this year (December 3rd, if I remember rightly) and I don’t know anyone who’s going up. I’d be ha[[y to chip for petrol and all that…hang on, I’m going off the rails here.
But I remember the first time I saw this band though. November 30th, 1994, at the peak of the Troublegum era. They were warned not to play Potato Junkie cause of the line, ‘James Joyce is ####### my sister’. Something to do with the Criminal Justice Bill, or something.
But anyway, they played the song and replaced James Joyce to John Major. Class. Still remember the first songs they opened with as well. ‘Isolation’, ‘Turn’ and the opening track on ‘Nurse’.
I’d seen them four times since, both when everyone loved them (Donington 1995, Newport October 1995) to the time when they dropped them and played smaller venues. I saw them in Aberristwith (I know, I spelt that wrong)in November 1998 and at a poorly attended festival in Swansea in July/August 2000.
However, its always the best the first time.

Seeing that we are listing them, or has there been a thread for that too?
Mine, Glasgow, in the Cathouse on the SMFT10YP tour. Tiny stage, tiny venue, close enough to spit on each other. Cracking stuff.
Close second was Glasgow Garage with Rico as support.
We all hooked up in Nice n Sleazies and drank rediculous amounts of beer.

Werchter 1996, the atmosphere was right (the sun was going down, lots of giant inflatable balloons were set loose on the audience and the weather was perfect) and they played A Moment Of Clarity. I will never forget that gig. I wish I remembered the setlist though.

It was my very first therapy?-gig and I waited for this for such a long time. Don’t remember the setlist though, I do remember the introduction by that women of chantal pattyn “let vooral niet op de onozele jasjes” and fortunatly the only thing I remember of that gig is the way they left the stage (twice) :D
Are there more band that played an encore at Rock Werchter?

Last December’s gig @ The Ambassador in Dublin was pretty terrific. 25 songs, and a little from every album… class.
Also the SFX gig in ‘93 (I think) was cool, plus Kerbdog was the support act.
Honourable mention goes to Page Hamilton’s appearence on stage with T? at Sunstroke 94.
But I’ll stick with the most recent gig. What an excellent set-list, plus I met Andy and Neil afterwards and they were real friendly.

We just coincidentally ended up in the same bar. The funny thing is I went with two friends, one of whom is a T? fan from ‘back in the day’ and the other just came along for the night out. Well it was the ‘non-T?’ fan who spotted Andy.
I had originally wanted to go to the rock bar beside the venue on the off chance that that’s where they’d go, but I was talked out off it as my mates had arranged to meet some other friends of ours elsewhere. So all in all, it worked out to be a cool night. As I said, very friendly guys and very approachable.
