Ever heard Janez Detd live?? They are not really my favorite band…

But hey, all their material was stolen a few months ago and maybe they sound better now :D!! Let’s hope Andy can make their sound a bit better as well…

They played in Zottegem as well, at the same festival last year. I though they weren’t really special, not really a distinctive sound. I only know their version of Take On Me, which is ok I guess.

Some blabla from their website:

Andy Cairns, frontman from the Metal/Punk band Therapy? will be helping the lads out with their new album. Andy will coming over to Belgium in a couple of weeks. Janez Detd will be doing their last demo-sessions on the 18th-19th and 20th of November. The recording of the album will be start on the 25th of November. All recordings will be done at Motor Music. The mix of the album will probably be done at Sinsound Studios in Brussels. Al Clay who was responsable for the mix of Anti-Anthem is currently working on the new Terminator soundtrack in Los Angeles. Al is trying to get some days off to work with Janez Detd again. Hopefully he will succeed. Janez Detd and Al Clay will work together in the future. It’s just a matter of matching agendas

In this week’s Humo there’s a small bit about the 10 records that “changed” Nikolas Van der Veken’s life. Therapy?’s Troublegum is one of them. Here’s what he has to say about it (sorry, but don’t really feel like translating right now, psv-milan has just started :)):

Huh, therapy? easy listening metal????

What a pitty Andy is helping them.
I used to like them a lot. I remember a great concert at Pukkelpop on the skate stage (around 1998 i believe).
They were once realy punk!

Now the music still sounds ok (sometimes really good) but their attitude changed to a hypercommercial, sponsored band with all the right clothes (something like Busted with good music) With N VDV as a self made BV who often appears on channels like Ketnet
Therefore thy are spit out by the punkscene in Belgium.

I hope Andy can get them back on the right track (music and behavior):D
