no that’s wrong. “zyklon” actually is the eye of a hurricane where all is calm and has exactly nothing to do with zyklon b.
Oh yeah? What’s this all about, then?

I actually meant the melo-death band simply called ‘zyklon’.

Zyklon B was the former name of Zyklon, featuring Samoth from Emperor - which is who we were talking about before you came in, talking about hurricanes ;)

Nope - you just showed you’re easily fooled when a metal band try to disguise their really distasteful original name by talking about the weather… :p

There’s also another video, Hellhammer plays the drums. There’s ice on the ground, the singer sings looking at the ice, you watch his face from the ice :)

but i think the singer is below the ice, and not above.

Of course I think Abbath’s above the ice, but it seems like he’s below, like an icy demon!

I did read an article in some metal magazine when they first came out and the name is the nerve gas that the nazis used. They were also holding guns in the pictures like they were rap guys or something looking all mean…very, very cheesy.Almost as bad as MANOWAR pictures. The recent issue of National Geographic(great mag by the way)has an article on toxins/poisons that is a good read and they have something on zyklon B,the nerve gas.

I got the Zyklon B E.P the other day, it’s Frost from satyricon Ihsam and Samoth from Emperor and some other bloke.
It’s really good stuff.
I have been getting more into my Black metal, listening to Mayhem and Enslaved a lot. I prefer Enslaved though as Mayhems vocal style is a bit shit!

Have you got Wolf’s Lair Abyss? I thought the vocals on that were great. Don’t have any Enslaved to compare it to, though.

I’ve not heard their old stuff…not that keen on the current incarnation of Zyklon though.
Have you heard any old Dissection? Storm Of The Light’s Bane is a class black metal album (Swedish not Norwegian though).

Icy cold mid-tempo black metal by Pasi Koskinen (former Amorphis, former solitude aeturnus and also mannhai) and gang. My faves are Kuolema (means dead) and äpäre (means bastard)
Best black metal album is of course De mysteriis dom satanas.
