Its a good album but I haven’t listened to it in a while so that might say something. Singing about such things as Monkies, Polar bears etc takes away from the LP a bit for me. Long distance as nice as it is does not fit on the LP as smooth as i’d like. Some excellent tunes on there. Ask me on another day and i may be mad for it, today is just one of those days.

Best album since Semi-Detatched. Bunch of quality songs which have made it into heavy rotation on the MP3-player.

Plus how many CDs have you heard with a super dirty guitar sound but still have a ton of catchy hooks?

As usual they change things up a bit, but still manage to keep it interesting and put out high quality tracks.

for me its the first time i have felt the original therapy? feeling on cd since the days of 91-93.
and “dead” is such a great track.
i think it is one of the best things t? has ever done, not just on this album.
buut no on else seems to rate it like i do!

Or is that wrong? (Yes, it IS wrong, but is that what richboy _meant_ ;))

I feel I should harass the DJ at the uni rock night to get hold of NANE DLAMF would go down really well and it would make a change to hear some different songs for once!

well, i think nane is pretty good, excellent in parts, but some of the lyrics aren’t the best.

i can’t see what the fuss is about HA though. although it too is excellent in parts, there are a fair few turkeys on it. i even think they managed to ruin rust (really like it on the single) by how it ends on the album.

HA is second last to shameless in my pile…

I used to HATE a good few songs on HA namely Stand In Line, Hey Satan, Watch You Go, Nobody Here But Us and Last Blast, now i can listen to all of them except Last Blast. I think the songs Watch you Go and Voodoo Doll are underrated, theyre just punkpop songs, and it just shows that the band can do punkpop very well.
I was first kinda pissed off with the lyrics in NANE, but now i see that theyre not that bad. i dont think the aim of NANE is to astound you with deeply insightful lyrics anyway, its got more depth than i first thought, but its more of an uncomprimising rollercoaster of an album, and thats why i like it.

HA made me fall in love with T? all over again. I used to go to the shows and buy the albums after IL, but it was as if our relationship had stagnated a bit. T? had moved in, I started looking at other bands. Going out with the boys more, but when HA came out it was as if T? had gotten some new sexy underwear and lost a few pounds. If you know what I mean.

I agree 100% with mother666. After IL I kept buying, and loving, T?’s albums, but HA really got me excited about them again.

I love NANE, Polar Bear and Long Distance are two of my favourite T? songs from any album, but I prefer HA as an album. Having said that, NANE is the album that’s getting some of mates back into T?. Possibly because back in Ireland, for some unknown reason, HA cost about €25 in HMV, hardly condusive to ‘passing trade’.

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again i don’t think there is a bad song on either HA or NANE.I think the lyrics on these albums are really good and are so much better most of the songs on Shameless.

I suppose a new release can be as much as €25.00. To be honest, I’m not 100% sure how much they are because I now live in Spain. However, as they have the Euro here, I really notice how expensive Ireland is. For example, as I mentioned, I saw HA for €24 in Dublin, I bought it as a new release here for €16 and NANE for €15. €24 is a ridiculous price (not the bands fault I know), there’s no way anyone but the loyal fan is going buy that.

NANE seems to be reasonably priced in South though, about €17-18 I think, which about the norm.

I had to order this album from the U.K., just like Semi-detached. Each came out to around $30.00.

Both kicked my ass after just one listen.

NANE is just amazing, a sleek, super-sonic missile of rock.
FAve tracks: RISE UP, PERISH THE THOUGHT, SO-CALLED LIFE, LONG DISTANCE, ROCK YOU MONKEYS(gotta get that shirt),LAST ONE TO HEAVENS A LOSER.

If I have to keep ordering T? albums from overseas I’ll do it. After all, what am I gonna do, NOT ORDER ‘EM? fuck that.

I like NANE, but I think they have lost what I liked the most in T? albuns: a sharp guitar. Now they sound low, as any other Heavy band. I have always loved T cos they were fast and clear. I miss riffs like Screamager or Stay Happy. I think they should come back closer to hardcore and leave those metal stuff to others.

i totally agree with happy being. they got into heavy metal world too much and its affect is negative. although i like mostly the times with Fyfe Ewing i can’t say the other albums were better than NANE. Andy also indicated everywhere that Therapy?’s music mentality has changed to experimental rock. And one of the result is NANE. The others are SPYF, Shameless and High Anxiety, that’s what i think.
you can feel the difference when you’ll listen to Armageddon Checklist and My Voodoo Doll.
Anyway, “Dead”, “Long Distance” and “This Ship Is Sinking” are my favs in this album.

It took me a few listens before I got into NANE, but I have loved it since and still do to this day. I would put in my top 3 T? albums with Troublegum and SPYF and Here Be Monsters, Polar Bear and DLAM being my favourtie tracks.

Maybe I am guilty of prefering the more commercial side of Therapy? but I think NANE could do with stronger songs and more hooks.

having said that, Rise Up and Die Like A Motherf*cker rock like prime era T?

Stuck it on the other day and i think its one of their best. Personally i don’t like Polar Bear its a bit of a ‘Learn to play Guitar in 3 easy steps’ type riff. Very basic but apart from that this album rules! Why don’t they do DLAM live anymore, i thought that would be a staple fave for a long loooong time :)

Innit weird how things change? This above is what i said last year, but now NANE is easily my fave T? album!
