Keane

Started by 30seconds

I expect they’re not to everyones taste on this board but I think they’re a really good band, very talented. Luckily I got to see them at a fairly intimate venue in Norwich a few months ago. Its unlikely they’ll play there now…they can do arenas!
I know alot of people are going to say they’re shit ect… but does anyone else like them?
:)

I don’t like Keane, the chubby singer has too much of a whiny voice for my liking.

They’re alright they write good melodic pop songs, the singer is in desperate need of a haircut though.

I fuckin’ hate them.

But a mate of mine hass seen them opening for U2 and was impressed by them. He had seen them before in a small club and said they were even better on an arena stage.

He’s no longer a friend of mine now.

nah,i can understand it when people aren’t impressed with feeder.the new stuff,i mean.it comes across much better in the live setting tho. (i’d say,i haven’t seen them yet this year due to personal reasons - but it was like that with the songs from Comfort…)

you could shoot him for going to see U2 tho :p

i mean, nothing against U2,but one U2 ticket would cover about 3 tickets for other bands that one cannot buy dvds of where you see actually more than when you witness the gig in person :p

Keane are excellent songwriters. First time I heard them was when I saw them live in Birmingham before they really got big, and the first thing I noticed is how good the songs themselves were. All of them have unexpected chord changes and melodies and yet maintain their standard pop sound, which is pretty impressive.
Unfortunately, the piano/drum/whine arrangement sucks any life out of the tracks and lodges the album largely unlistenable for me.

My brother pointed out to me the other day that the only interesting thing about Keane is that the singer is actually really tall and thin, yet manages to look small and fat. Quite a feat!!!

Saw ‘em supporting U2 last week. Boring!!!!! All the songs sounded the same as the previous one. Awful stuff.

Also recently found out a mate of mine’s group supported them in New York and said they were a bunch of stuck up c*nts. And bear in mind my mates have rubbed shoulders with real rock stars while working and gigging across the states, and by real rockstars I mean Slash, Dave Grohl, Peter Buck etc.. and said they were all real friendly and approachable. And then you have some snooze merchants like Keane acting like cocks!
