Foo Fighters- In Your Honour

#

Started by Divers (Simon)

Just bought the new album and I really enjoyed it. The Rock disc is much better in my opinion then the last two albums they released. And the Acoustic Disc I thought was very good some strong songs and if you get it with the dvd then it’s in surround sound which sounded great, also Josh hommes guitar playing on the last song is very impressive.
An all round good album :D

Just got the new foos cd. I was really really hoping for a return of the old foos but nevermind. I think the acustic cd is better than the rock. The latter seems to be more of the american radio friendly throw away rock/pop jazz whilst the former sounds like Mr.Grohl has been listning to too much ryan adams!

All in all not a bad effort but could do better.

Well, I still have to buy the ablum but it’s already sure that I’m going to buy the ablum so I will let you know what I think about the ablum.

If all the other songs on the ablum were as good as The Best Of Me, it would be a very good ablum. :D

Is there someone else singing on the album to alla QotSA or is that Grohl trying something different with his voice in a few songs?

Tayor Hawkins sings on one of the songs, but the other guitar player can sing as he fronts jackson united as well, maybe it’s one of them.

It’s a solid album but I still think the first two were amazing.

I got the album earlier this week, and it just sounds sooooo borrrrring :(

Even worse than “One By One” perhaps?

Every song just sounds the damn same - nothing remotely as good as ‘Hey Johnny Park’ or ‘Everlong’.

I’ve only played the album once and I quite liked it. Okay, its not a patch on The Colour And The Shape, but the rock and acustic thing worked. (Some of the softer stuff could have been done by Jeff Buckly, and that’s no bad thing).

Its not a classic but it aint bad either - although I think Audioslave set a new benchmark for boring this year…

I think Team Sleep could lay claim to that title as well along with Idlewild.

I’ve noticed in a couple of interviews Dave Grohl has said One By One was shit well half shit he thinks the songs on the second half of the album are weak. It’s funny when One By One first came out he thought it was the best thing they’d ever done:rolleyes:.

One good thing about the new Foos album is they chose to release the rock and acoustic albums together instead of releasing them separately and charging full price for the both of them unlike System Of A Down who are anti- capitalists and releasing two albums this year and charging full price for the both of them.

Well these days everyone says that it’s there best album. It would be quite funny hearing them say.
“our new album is pretty shit, but please buy it as we need the money”

I think Big Black were one of the few people who put stickers on there albums saying things like this album is great but the next one will be better or this album isn’t as good as the last.

Every foo album is worse than the previous one.

And every single time, Dave says : ” its our best one ”

And In Your Honour is fucking shit !

WORSE than One by One!

Sorry to say, but this is a disappointing album. The ‘acoustic’ cd is just boring and even the ‘rock’ cd is just a collection of average Foos tunes.

i was forced (well almost) to listen to this album yesterday and although i didn’t find it particularly bad, it was just the same old foo fighters stuff that could’ve been put out at any time over the last 10 years or so. i preferred the acoustic album if only for novelty value.

I think “In Your Honor” is their weakest album, but… There are some superb songs on it: “In Your Honor”, “Best Of You”, “DOA”. And their weakest album is much better than besf albums of many bands.
I’ve heard the new songs live already, they sounded really great.
