at least they didnt get knob jim carey to do it..fuckin rubber faced git…but johnny was great…he’s had practice being strange in other films he’s done (edward scissors hands)…i loved how mean willy wonka was to the kids…and i couldn’t see how that was upsetting to children…my friend had a howling child sitting next to her for most of the film…

i still haven’t got round to seeing it yet but hopefully will do so tomorrow. just out of interest, would a five year old find it scary then? i don’t want to have to miss it and/or listen to him crying. dont worry by the way, it’s all above board. the child accompanying me is my nephew. honest…

I wouldnt say scary, though i could maybe see a 5 year old freaking out over a scene or two. Honestly though, a great film and (for once) a great re-make. Oh, my names matt by-the-way:)

well, it has been made in film version before. in the same way as the witches, james and the giant peach and the BFG have all been done in film. i think when people are referring to it as a re-make they mean from the first version of the film. :)
