Babyshambles

Ok, this is probably a controversial thread but, I’m going to post it anyway!! :p
Anyway, I really like babyshambles, they are the closest thing to real punk nowadays, and they really have some good songs. Musically their not as good as the libertines but it is still very good.
You have to admit Pete doherty is a prick but songs like fuck forever are amazing!!

Obviously I’d like to hear what you think about them, even though I know you’ll probably disagree with me!! :p

Biggest pile of over-rated wank ever.

I had heard and seen so much on this band with out ever hearing them - when I finally heard them I couldn’t believe what I was hearing… they are like the worst pub band I have ever seen…

The new Nirvana? not even the new Creed!

i didn’t really like the libertines either. they just seemed to be one of those nme bands who came along at the right time. they were better than babyshambles though. but that’s not hard. :p

I just find it sad that these bunch of fuck-ups and losers (I’m referring to Doherty, his band, and those hangers on like ‘Wolfman’ or whatever the fuck he’s called) are seen as the epitome of cool by ‘the kids’.

There’s really nothing cool about looking scruffy, taking smack, and wearing a stupid hat.

I think they’re even worse than the Libertines because at least the Libertines have one good song(What A Waster).Babyshambles can’t even manage that.

I actually thought Can’t Stand Me Now was a good song, but I think it’s pretty fucked up that Doherty is some kind of youth role model.

Rawness and energy is one thing, I just don’t think the guy can write a good song. Other than Can’t Stand Me Now, which is kind of fun, I’ve not heard a single Libertines or Babyshambles track which appealed to me on any level.
Give me Travis over them any day. At least they can write fucking tune.

How about simply “The…”

Named after the medieval street in York which used to house the city’s butchers, of course. (I realise this allusion will be lost on anyone who’s never been to York, and I apologise but I studied History there.)
