I think maybe the gap between Infernal Love and Semi-detached might be considered one of their worst moments i’ve read a few interviews where Andy seems to regret it took them so long to get an album out.

definitely fyfe leaving. i went to see what turned out to be fyfe’s last gig when i was a wee fella and was blown away by his drumming. was gutted to find out he’d left.

anyway, i liked t? before i saw them live but just like Unrequited_lad was converted after seeing them. and in all the years since i honestly have seen very few bands that even come close to being as good live.

After Infernal Love, when A&M decided to put the band on the back burner, they basically fell off the map here in the states. Has there ever been a worse label? Infernal Love was a great album, but they didn’t even promote it much. I learned about it from a review in Guitar magazine.

I didn’t even know about Semi-detatched until around 1997-98 when all of the on-line retailers really took off, and I found the Japanese version for sale. I was bitter it was never released here (in the US), and then after I heard it even more bitter because it was a great album that I had to wait an extra two years to buy.

Oh-fucking-dear.

I’m not saying every T? track they do has to be perfect.
We have our expectations and ideas of a particular T? sound and so do they. Also, no band is 100% spot on all the time, apart for Turbonegro, but that’s another arguement.
I mean, has anyone heard the last u2 album?

:p that was one of their best moments!!! I like that song a lot! It’s completely fucked up, but as mother says, it was just a joke.

I think the gimme gimme shock treatment is a lot worse… the guitarslide during the chorus ruined the whole song… I can’t listen to the original any more without hearing that annoying “pieeuw” :D
There’s also something very wrong with the guitarsolo of “teenage kicks” or am I the only one who thinks so

If thats the case, I want Bono to come on national tv and apologise for writing the fucker in the first place.
Nah, I really doubt it was a joke.
Joke’s are funny or at least are aimed at being funny.
I reckon they were just pissed up in the studio.

That gap proved costly. They lost media interest, most fans got into nu-metal, and then A&M sunk, bringing Semi - Detached with it. Sour times, but they battled on.
