Well I’m reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (or Wuthering Fucking Heights as I reckon it should be renamed), just because:
a) I’m starting to get very bored reading Metro every lunch and breaktime
b) I want to look superior to the plebs I work with who read The Sun and Hello!
c) I’ve never read it and half of my degree was in English and I fucking should have
d) I want to.
Anyone else know it?
I’m reading it at the mo as well, first thing I’ve started reading in ages. Not at all what I thought it was like - what with the witches, ghosts, EVERYONE hating each other… and I’m only on Chapter 3!

What did you think of it? As soon as I finished it I couldn’t remember a single thing about it. :/

Actually, come to think of it, I don’t really remember that much either. I think I was carrying out a prolonged practical exercise on the theme of the book at the time - although unfortunately I was consuming large amounts of bad soap bar hash rather than the “heavenly nectar” they call opium :p

“The Historian” by Elizabeth Kostova. Pretty good vampire story.
Before that I read “A History of the Kings of Britian” by Geoffrey of Monmouth, “Diamond Age” by Neil Stephenson and “Chainfire” by Terry Goodkind.

I’m reading Marc Almond’s autobiography, partly because I like Tainted Love, and partly because he used to live round the corner from here and DJ at a club I regularly get drunk in these days (though obviously he was there before my time).
Interesting, he’s lucky to be alive considering the amount of drugs he’s taken (not to mention that crash he was involved in, though it was written before then).
A certain Mr McCarrick also played in his side project band in about 1983…

Really? I didn’t get that one because it said on http://www.beachboys.com/books.html
the book was “stiffly written” and heavily influenced by Wilson’s diabolic psychiatrist.
I went for “Heroes & Villains” instead. I’ve been planning to read it for ages, but never really found the time. I can, however, recommend both documentaries, “Endless Harmony” and “Beautiful Dreamer” on the Beach Boys, Wilson and SMiLE.

I have to disagree, I read the first half and thought it was absolute toss.

I loved that one, brilliant book. I saw a theatre production of it a few years back and they had twins playing the lead character, it was really well done.
