It is a great riff, but then the album’s full of them, isn’t it? Plenty to admire. I’m reserving judgement on the best riff for a little while longer, though. I’ve only played the album about twnety or thirty times, give me a break :D

‘course I give you a break. I’ve only listened to NANE about 15 times and Polar Bear is one of the best (not the best!) riffs so far. If I’ve offended you in any way, I bow my head and hats off to you ;)
But what do you think about Dead? I like it a lot, but I don’t know why.

lol, that’s what i call damning with faint praise :) Yeah, tis cool, though at the moment I think I prefer Here Be Monsters. But that opinion is only valid for the _next_ 40 minutes (well, 39:45), until i start the whole process again :D
ooh, wait, So called life has just started… anyone else love that fuzzed up ‘blues’ riff that starts it? ;)

I was thinking Polar bear was a great riff as well. Fun to play, too. There was a bass line I particularly enjoyed too, but for the life of me, I can’t remember which one it was…

I think the best would be the bass riff from Innocent X, cool song name too. and the intro to Opal mantra is a killer.

Nope, I’ll stick with Innocent X. The bass line drives the whole song along - great to dance to (even if you dance as badly as me).

Title: With regard to the best drum riffs…
.. both Teethgrinder and Hypermania are not dificult to perfect the way Fyfe played them. They just require a good level of dexterity.
Also, I find Meat Abstract dead easy. In general, I find I can play note for note with most of Fyfe’s beats.
Either I’m doing them wrong or I’m a better drummer than I give myself credit for! And I’m begging to think it may be the latter.
To be fair though, I did play along with Babyteeth, Pleasure Death and Nurse incessantly when I was younger, so that may have something to do with it!
NB: Please don’t think I’m an arrogant arse, coz I’m not. Thankyou very much.
