Man they were a great band, I have been going thru there whole back catalogue just genius. I was a massive fan of Drive Like Jehu, but RFTC were always a bit more easy going. Sadly no more R.I.P

Sigh, my fondest memory of watching Top Of The Pops as a developing child was seeing RFTC perform On A Rope…

My fave memory of them was at a gig in the Ritz. Some guy got up about 5 times in a row in the first few songs of the set, the final time Speedo kicked the guy square in the back and he went flying off the stage. At the end of the song he said something along the lines of “People have paid to come here and see us, not you, so fuck off.” :D

Actually dug my RFTC shirt out last week and wore it again, sadly some bastard I worked with last year nicked the hoodie, but I couldn’t prove it

Last Time I saw them was 2001 i think at reading festival Marylin manson was on the main stage and they just went for it on the radio 1 stage, one of the best ending to a festival yet:)

i really liked RFTC.. got to see them in 1998, absolutely brilliant.

would have LOVED to go to their farewell gig at Halloween.

BTW, Andy wears a RFTC shirt on the photo top left at the back of the Not Lunacy bootleg. :)

I’ve got nearly all their albums, most of it was hard to get for ages then they started selling it on the site. Thier one of my favourite bands and i think im really upset that their only doing one last show in San Diego, i thought they would have done a farewell tour.

Yes they have been re-releasing there albums over the last few years some with bonus tracks as well as the drive like jehu stuff. Speedo has said that he has a new band that will be recording a album soon but has not given any details.

It’s probably Hot Snakes. He’s released one two albums with them in the last few years and i think their doing another one. I have one and it’s really kool, but no Rocket From The Crypt. Speedo doesn’t sing though, only plays guitar and the singer doesn’t have as a really unique voice like Speedo does.

Title: RFTC

Back in ‘97 me & my flatmate were watching them on TOTP when my mate burst into song with ‘soap on a rope’etc!Great memories;I saw them at Pompey Wedge where they blew all the lights out after just four songs with the volume alone, then carried on as if nothing had happened!

YES! GREAT fucking band! :D Fantastic live, too. Some of my all time fave lyrics are from the song “used”:

You used to be a lot like your mom
you used to be a lot like your dad
you used to be a lot like a son of a bitch
but thats the way it goes

:D
