I used to be much more into the electronic/rave scene but I left it a year or two ago for some personal reasons. I still enjoy a few people, like DJ Rap or Death in Vegas.

cool, its nice to listen to something a bit diferent now and then. richard d james album is one of my favorites, and i quite like death in vegas but prefer something a bit more twisted %) I recomend royal astronomy by mu-ziq(pronounced music) to anyone whos into intresting electro music. brendon, have you heard of gabba? its serious hardcore rave music.

Gabba? You don’t mean ‘gabber’, I hope, which was (and still is) the name for the rubbish that used to be very popular in Holland a couple of years ago. The standard outfit for the ‘gabbers’ (people who loved this music and went to hardcore parties) were Australian (the brand) tracksuits and Nike Air Max, and practically all of ‘em were bald. They looked like aliens! Anyway, I thought they were an extinct species, but every now and then, you can still see some, but they’re pretty rare nowadays.
I’m talking about the ‘Thunderdome’ crap here, if you come across any of these cd’s, please run away as fast as you can, it’s not even good enough to wipe your ass with…

I’m very familiar with Gabber, but there’s virtually no Gabber scene in the US. Gabber was always presented to me as sort of a Neo-Nazi movement within in the rave scene. I’m not really fond of the music either…I mean, Gabber songs get to like 400 beats per minute, which is pretty insane, and I’m not a huge fan of the hard house sound. I’m more into breakbeats or drum and bass.

Roni Size has done some good stuff with DJ Shadow that I enjoyed very much. Goldie has also recorded some good stuff, though I don’t listen to him quite as often. Meat Katie has a good sound, but I think sometimes his work is a little too simplified.

Other than that, most of the people I enjoy are small-name local DJs who wouldn’t be known anywhere outside of the area really.

I like uplifting a lot, it’s pretty popular music here because Greece (along with Israel) have the biggest scene. You should check bands like Starchildren, Holy Man, Cherouvim or Cyan, they ‘re pretty good.
