not really a “gig” as such, but i went to see the league of gentlemen last night in cambridge. the first half of the show was mostly sketches used in the TV series (and unfortunately, most from the third series which was pretty poor anyway). the second half was a kind of pantomime show with the characters from royston vasey which was a bit better. overall though, i was pretty disappointed with it really.

That sounds shit! Especially the ‘kind of pantomime show’!

I’ve seen clips of their live show, where they’re all dressed in tuxes like knobs…I personally wouldn’t have paid money to go. The first series was ace but they’ve gone right downhill…

I went to see them last month in Brussels. They were really excellent!
The last concert I went to was Franz Ferdinand in Leuven. Another great gig, but an awful sound

but in terms of other gigs went to see my mate play his last gig before goiung back to venezuela (sp?) last night, was fucking awesome.

There was also a few other bands. One was called Skyward and we of course expected “something” from them but they were extremely bad Nightwish copiers and the singer can’t sing at all. However Ajattara was fun. Crowd knew all the lyrics and there was a lots of fists in the air.

I went to see Admiral Freebee last night in Petrol, Antwerp. Great gig, but what a stupid audience!!
This was really the worst audience I’ve ever seen!
They where talking (nothing new, but very annoying), making phonecalls in front of the stage, (do they actually hear a word of what’s been said on the other side)
Some girls in the front who couldn’t get their hands of the Admiral!? They would have taken his clothes off if they could… while I’m sure if he wouldn’t be famous, they would run away from him if they met him!
Some girls who where posing for a picture in front of the stage…
Can it get any worse!?

I went to see Shakra - HammerFall - Stratovarius last night at Hof ter Lo in Antwerp.

Shakra was pretty good, HammerFall was awesome but Stratovarius disappointed me a bit. The sound during their set wasn’t optimal too. I never was a Stratovarius fan and probably never will be.

But once again, HammerFall was amazingly good, they did a nice drum-solo too, not too long, just right. It included the intro of one of my favourite Maiden songs, so that was quite fun.

The crowd was immediately into the music as well.

I only went there to see mr Joey Jordison perform and he thanked me by giving his plectrum

There was 1 jerk in the audience who tried to destroy the stage, so mr 13 himself went into the audience and kicked the shit out of that guy

Well I guess he had it coming :D

It was the first time I saw a band member going off stage into the audience to beat someone up, but he really had it coming… his teeth were on the floor after the riot

Mr 13 apologised, but explained that it’s not because they wear make up that they can not kick someone’s ass :D

Not that I support violence, but someone who’s destroying others material or is disturbing a gig (in any way… talking included) needs to be tortured!
