No, not Rick Rubin. He would turn Therapy? a joke even though I like some of his work.

I’d say Pete Bartlett. Where has he gone? As he’s not doing live mixing for them anymore…

Chris Sheldon would be ok but just because of the old merits.

Can’t even propose any producer as don’t have any clue who’s who in producer world. :p

Pete did a fine job on the last album, he would be fine doing it again.

I like what Colin Richardson has done with alot of artists, GGGarth is very good or Machine.

But it all depends on what sort of album they want to make and also the budget, people like rubin would use it all up just in pre production.

I wouldn’t have a fucking clue what I was doing, but I’d get to hang out with therapy?

No way, not GGGarth - he made a mess out of Kerbdog’s “On The Turn” album.

Chris Sheldon would be my choice. Both Troublegum and Semi-Detached were very polished (in a good way!).

I’m not disagreeing with you on that but the production on alot of the other albums he has done since have been great Rise againsts new album for instance. BUt at the end of the day it does depend on who mixes the album.

They should get someone cool like Jason from Jason and the Scorchers who did the Wildhearts live album, it sounds huge! T? suit that massive ROCK sound perfectly! I reckon Pete will do it though.

Gotta agree with this, especially if you look at the work he’s done with current bands - Biffy Clyro, Oceansize, Reuben. Man of the moment I’d say.

My vote would go to the Producer, “Head”, who recorded “SPYF” with T? in 1999.
Great “Close-in-a-small-room-Rock-attack-Sound”…:D

Also…Chris Sheldon / Barlett did a good job “Sound-wise”, with “High Anxiety”, great “Drumming-sound” and great dynamic´s on the pother instruments…!

Cheers!

I can’t imagine they would even get close to Rubin though, he’s probably too busy on the next Chili’s album or some other pompous dinosaur band!!!
Maybe they should ask David Holmes who did the noises on In fernal Love to give them a dance sheen?>

The drums, in particular the hi-hats and other symbals, sounded awful. It’s a hard album for me to listen to even though the songs are excellent.

How about Joe Barresi, short list of his work to date below

if he did Kerbdog - On The Turn then he’s ok to do Therapy? in my book

Machine woudl be interesting since he’s a ghod of electronic rock production, so it would be cool to see what he could do wiht the noise.

or i should produce it wiht the help of my tutor Jonesy, it would be ace :)

My second choice would be Stock, Aitken And Waterman. At least this way we may get a cover of ‘The Harder I Try’ by Brother Beyond at last… :p

your right he does do some dirty albums and the drums are huge a very raw and natural album. his work with PJ Harvey and Yourcodenameis:milo was very good, and shellac

I can imagine how huge and tight Neil and Mike would sound produced by Albini (think Jesus Lizard) :)

I don’t know if he’d be the best to bring out the best in Andy’s sound though
