People who will go to Utrecht and Tilburg: I’ll be there too, I’ll be wearing a grey Undeclinable t-shirt with a yellow flame in the middle (dunno about Tilburg though, it depends on the amount of sweat I’ll lose tomorrow ;-) )

Yes… I would like to meet some new people… OpalMantra are you there the next days? Patricia, I would like to meet you also after many emails… And Tightrope Walker I did not had a chance to say HI to you in Amsterdam.

And I’m looking forward to see in the next 3 days: Michael, Ronald, Teethgrinder, Katinka, Deep Sleep, Robby, Sister, Murphy, Ten Year Plan, Unbeliever… and who I all forgot.

No, the gig was pretty long actually, with two encores (although all played songs were on the playlist). There was only one support band, and Therapy? played for about an hour an 15 mins or so. According to a lady from Tivoli, it would last till 11 at most, but they played a bit longer, so it wasn’t short at all.
O, I won’t be wearing the Undeclinable shirt tonight, the amount of sweat I lost appeared to be waaaaaaaaaay too large! And just a tip: bring some deodorant and a clean shirt if possible, trust me, it would have helped me yesterday!
It was nice meeting some of you guys, see you tonight! And Rene, I’ll try and write a piece about yesterday’s gig, ok?

snx: As Michael said the gig was about 1 hour and 15 minutes, but the people I was driving home with wanted to go home ‘cause they had to work early… and Utrecht is about 15 minutes from where I live.

And for most of you… Rene will get his pictures today of all the Dutch and Belgium gig…

I think I now noticed the time on this board isn’t CET for the first time (duh)

[eventhough it seems weird that concerts start at 8pm, I do think it’s a good thing, coz I can remember having to hurry for the last train, even when a concert wasn’t finished.]

was the support any good? my experience; is hardly ever is. Joyrider and skunk anansie, jah, that was really good.

The support band was Defenestration, they will be in Tilburg and Rotterdam too. It’s not really my cup of tea, they play death metal (with a girl growling the lyrics), it’s a bit too loud for me. Besides, it doesn’t resemble Therapy?’s music at all. Tonight, One In A Million will be the second support act, they are pretty good actually.

Defenestration are nice guys/girls! I was sitting next to Scott after the gig in Essen(he didn’t talk too much for different reasons) and talked to Gen, their vocalist…very straight, grounded people. I like that.

@michael: we got from defenstration the promo cd and is really good! much better then you might think. you won’t believe it, but this ‘pinky girl’ (sorry, but she seems to own only pink t-shirts) is really able to sing and it sounds good. i don’t know, how many times i had played it today…maybe 15324372586 times.

Roxana, I just don’t like growling singers, I’m sorry! The music sounds great though. Same goes for Amorphis: they used to play ‘growl’ music, now the growling is completely gone, and I love it! So it’s just a matter of personal taste.
Personally, I liked One In A Million (support band last night in Tilburg) very much, they play pop-punk. I bought a demo cd from them, but I haven’t got the chance to listen to it (just woke up…).
The setlists for Tilburg and Utrecht are almost identical to the Koln setlist, except for some different songs: They didn’t play Dance, but they did play This One’s For You (which sounds brilliant live!). In Utrecht they didn’t play Opal Mantra. Fortunately , they did play it in Tilburg. Instead of Opal Mantra, they played Denim Demon in Utrecht (yee-ha!). They played Alrite too at both gigs. I’m sure I’m forgetting some songs, anybody knows the complete setlist?

defenstration wasn’t my kinda band eighter, but One in a Million I liked!! Very much indeed, do they have a cd or something?

and Therapy? was EXCELLENT, had a brilliant time, in spite of Andy’s voice problems. Opal-fucking-Mantra!!!!!!

Hellbelly, Tango Romeo, Lonely Crying Only… they play so much an so long… was I the only one in the car ridin’ home with an ear-to-ear grin??

I was paying too much attention to the roads to grin (I never smile when I’m serious…), there was an awful lot of fog, so I had to be really careful. Besides, it was freezing, so I had to look out not to bang against a tree or something. But I’m smiling now alright! And it will continue this weekend, because while you are having a brilliant time in Rotterdam, I’ll be celebrating and singing, cos today, the Carnaval-season begins, yeah baby! Next time I’ll see you, I’ll show you how to do the ‘polonaise’ (sorry for the non-Dutch folks, don’t know the English word for ‘polonaise’, because there simply is no other word for it!). Anyway, have fun tonight, I know I will!!
