I’m sorry if there is a thread about this already but they’re a pain in the backside to search for.

I’ve been a fan since Nothing came out. The 2 older albums and the live one are kind of cheesy but still great. I’ve only seen them live 5 times, all this year. They’re awesome performers and love the fans.
I was even lucky enough to Travel from London to Norwich with the keyboard player Giles, sit around in soundcheck for nearly 4 hours and after the show go backstage. They’re not a huge band but I adore them.

Anyone else happen to like them? I’m not expecting loads!

Saw them quite a few years ago as a support band and really enjoyed the set. Bought a few 7”s at the gig but totally failed to follow up on them after that. Not sure why :s Albums, you say? Well done them.

I remember randomly buying “Number 1” after it was on a listening post in my local record shop back in 1997! I love their first album, and the second has some pretty good tunes on too. I wasn’t too impressed with the change of direction with Hi-Fi Serious, but fair play to them I say, they need to earn SOME cash!

They didn’t have the best record label. The band themselves say they just have bad luck. Not to the taste of the mainstream I suppose. Ah well.
Singing “cheeky monkey!” in a very high voice helped me through bad times.

They’re earning cash like you say now. Just to get some more writing done. They’ve all got kids so I think people are quite happy for them to spend some more time with them!

Yeah Monkey Kong was a very different sound back then. It’s still great though. Down On The Floor is just ace. Those songs take so much enegry to sing along to live!

You should have bought Hi-Fi Serious!

You need to hear the guitar solo in The Distance. Mark did it in one go. *bows*

I agree. ‘A’ aren’t really pop though :p

Some of their songs could have been. Busted were classed as pop..which could have easily been what ‘A’ sounded like a few year ago.

Speaking of which I think ‘A’ are helping Matt from busted with this solo work. I’m quite looking forward to it.

Everyone should own Monkey Kong. Not so keen on the newer albums but they’re still worth checking out. The Art of Making Sense - download it!

Mate - save yourself some time, Starbucks coffee is crap. Buy a styrofoam cup for £2 from those smiling idiots or make one at home that tastes far better for 30p!

ps - if you do go in - don’t ask for a coffee - they won’t know what you mean! You have to ask for a grande latte crapucinicincobinco!!!

Bought a nice chocolate chip cookie in there. Its this stoopid cafe culture thats coming in, even I’m guilty of going to plenty of cafes and thats saying something, yet I still hate the places. I relax and chat in a pub under the influence of alcohol, why are Starbucks trying to change me?

I had the pleasure of seeing Giles (the keyboard player ;) you’ll hear a lot of him) in Starbucks and I started humming the tune. Sad eh but it made him chortle.

I was at the London gig when they announced the ‘break’ thing. Jason kept making jokes so no one actually knew what was going on. He recently gave everyone a message.
I have a gut feeling they’ll be back. They’ll still be in music anywho.

i am just listening to Monkey Kong… Round 2!

before i couldnt decide what to listen to, so i lay down on the floor where i have all the cds i’d like to sell, but i know i’ll never will sell them cause no one wants them or knows them.. anyway that cd stared at me… i remembered you and what you were saying about A
so i thougth i’ll give em a chance.. and i have to say that “Round 2”-Comment above does speak for itself!

i rediscovered that band now. not that i like everything on the record but it has some nice songs on it. Old Folks for example, or Hopper Jonnus Fang which reminds me on the gorillaz.. as well as if it aint broke fix it anyway, which always was my favourite on the record… really nice!

I don’t think so…maybe just the chorus. They do a lot of harmony. Giles does the backing vocals with Jason too..some songs have 3 different lines going.

Someone asked Gilesat a gig and he said it changes every time. I’ll try and ask Dan, see if he has any idea.

I’ve been into A since the first album How Ace Are Buildings. Top band. Hi Fi Serious is my favourite album even if it is a bit over produced. There record label did fuck them over coz the last album was finished for over a year before it finally got released.

I was in McDonalds before the Bloodhound Gang gig in London last year, and Dan (A’s bassist) was in there. Tried to take a photo without him noticing but he busted me, so I felt a bit stupid and ran away. Why didn’t I just ask for a photo? Tit!

I’ve been into A since Bad Idea&they were blowing the once mighty Symposium off stage.Having seen them 8 times i can honestly say they’re one of the best live acts I’ve ever seen.As for the albums I think Buildings just shades Teen Dance as the best LP.Best live appearance had to be at Reading 2002 on the mainstage, awesome! Also, they always had time for their fans, especially Jason. My ideal gig line-up would be Agent Blue,A,&Therapy? headlining,(I can dream).
