My top 10 would be:

12 Monkeys

Mad Max 2

Memento

Citizen Cane (or is it Kane?)

The 7 Samourai

Fight Club

Blade Runner

The Truman Show

A Clockwork Orange

Scissorshands (not quite sure if i spelled it right).

The best films i saw this year were Memento and Requiem For A Dream, all the others sucked (except from The Gift, it was just ok).

Oops, sorry, forgot East Of Eden. Anyway, since we ‘re talking about skinheads, let me state my opinion. It’s clearly a fact that not all skinheads are nazis, but to my eyes skinheads are the most pathetic people i ‘ve ever seen. I don’t know what happens to other countries, but i ‘ve seen a lot of things here that make me feel repulsion about them. They ‘re just the kind of people i hate the most.

Memento is about …well it doesn’t really matter, it’s just an amazing movie, go see it. Requiem For A Dream is about the influence of drugs and television on people, it’s also a very good movie, very intense

maybe where you live you didn’t see what skinheads really are.
real skinheads used to listen also to bob marley, and he’s not a real aryan. i don’t like them for many reasons (i also think it’s very stupid to dress all the same) but as i said, i also saw some of their concerts and their lyrics are against racism.
see: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Amphitheatre/3558/

about films:
have anyone mentioned taxi driver? and the film featuring jack nicholson in the soul asylum (i don’t know the english title)?

and back in history (in the ‘20): ‘un chien andalou’, a surrealist film by bunuel and salvador dali from wich the pixies took inspiration to write the song ‘debaser’.

Oi innocent x you genuinly are one of the most irritating ppl its ever been my displeasure to meet. Firstly I never said anything about hating spielberg quite enjoy most of his films. But yet you presume because you are arrogant, you seem to think you are far more intelligent then anyone else no doubt as a result of some sort of university education. I’m not going to argue the rest of the mail, its early I’ve got work to do and I dont have time its just the presumptious and arrogant nature of your reply that insensed me. I know you will reply to this because you always have to have the last word but I will not be continuing this I have better and more important things to do with my time than argue with a lonely yank.

To penn: I said it too that not all skinheads are racists (the nazi ones are not even a majority). What i can’t really stand about them is this sort of brotherhood they have developed. I ‘ve been to many gigs where a lot of skins and punks gather. There are often riots between nazi skins and punks, this happens everywhere, you know what i ‘m talking about. Well, i ‘ve never seen any anti-racist skinhead take part in these conflicts. What is the point to claim that you ‘re not a racist and not support actively what you say? Don’t get fooled by what their songs say. The only thing that counts is actions, not just words. I find it very stupid that these people feel like brothers just because they all look the same. I don’t know about the other people on this board but i could never hang around with a nazi because we listen the same music or wear the same clothes or whatever.

what i wanted to say is that skinheads are totally different from nazi skins. they hate nazi skins. i think that the majority of skinheads you see are nazi skins. i think that the skinhead movement i was talking about is not present in every city. maybe they’re not in yours.
said that, i hate nazi skins with all myself but skinheads only make me laugh.

Dermot @ It’s a wonderful life - I just couldn’t get into it. Plus I much preferred Jimmy Stewart in Harvey, now that’s a good film.

Viirkokka @ I was going to make a sound of displeasure at the thought that you would put Starship Troopers (which had Dougie Howser MD in it). But you managed to redeem yourself in style with Battle Royale, a truly great film.

Jess @ You are one of the few people I know who liked Secretary (I loved it, but then I’m as nuts as James Spader, but hey that’s a different thread). All the blokes who I know who have seen it, expected it to be porn - they didn’t understand it at all. Their lose.
