Unheard Nirvana material due
A new compilation could even be out this year
A new Nirvana compilation is set for release next month, according to US reports.

The album, which is due in November, has been titled ‘Sliver’ and will be a single disc featuring three unheard tracks, and material from last year’s box set ‘With The Lights Out’.

Ideas for the cover image were put together by Courtney Love and her child with Kurt Cobain, Frances Bean Cobain.

Peter Asher, who manages Love, told Rolling Stone: “Courtney and I involve Frances in Nirvana/Kurt decisions whenever we can. She’s very perceptive and has cool ideas.”

A UK spokesperson for the band was unable to comment on the compilation.

I am bored of these unheard, never heard before, hidden tracks!!! Those record labels announce one unheard song in 3 or 5 years period. They find an unreleased Queen song, they invent a never heard before Jimi Hendrix recordings. It’s been 11 years since Kurt died and their record label and Courtney Love found 5 or 6 unreleased songs.

Everyone knows they have them totally. But, they release them one by one, just to make lots of money from a man who’s not alive!!!

Yup folks Nirvana fans are just being ripped off,if those songs were any good surely they would have been included in the boxset or released when Cobain was still alive. But we can probably expect this behaviour every two years from their record company.

This is typical of Courtney. We forked out for ‘With The Lights Out’ and that self titled compliation, now she wants us to do it again.

Were Krist and Dave involved? I some how doubt it.

yeah this maybe one of the cases of having to download the tracks. I did buy ‘with the light out’ but i was bitterly disappointed with it to be honest, because most the stuff on we i already heard years ago on the outcesticide bootlegs…

Hmm i guess it was worth it for old age, verse chorus verse and hung him on a cross.

The worst album was that crappy greatest hits album, i refused to pay 13 quid just for one track..they made the video for you know you’re right but they were sly for not releasing it as a single for the guys that already have all the albums…

A tip to any budding, troubled artists out there:

1. Before marrying, make sure your wife is not a money-grabbing, soulless, exploitive whore with all the morals and standards of Josef Mengele.
2. Don’t shoot yourself at the peak of your powers.

That way, you can handily avoid having your life, career and work cashed in on every few years.

likwit_swordz where did you find the tracklisting?

I can’t imagine who this compilation is going to appeal to.All the causal Nirvana fans who only know Smells Like Teen Spirit will have bought the 2002 compilation and all the die hard Nirvana fans will already have the boxset.

I have a version of ‘Spank Thru’ recorded on the John Peel sesions.

I really liked ‘With The Lights Out’ and ‘Mrs Butterworth’ is my favourite track by a long way.

well the good news is that it appears most Nirvana addicts like myself didn’t buy this pile of crap as Courtney couldn’t make enough money to pay her morgage.

or they might carry on with the best of the box theme to help the poorer nirvana fans

i.e.
‘Teen Spirit:The best of Nevermind (buy it suckers)’

no longer do you have to pay 5.99 for Nevermind from HMV now for just 3.99 you can get the best of Nevermind with a brand new track!!!

1. Smells like Teen Spirit
2. In Bloom
3. Lithum
4. Come as you are
5. Smells Like Teen Spirit (Exclusive boom box demo version previously thought to be to rubbish to release) * Previously Unreleased

actually this band bores me to death…

i dont get it, why people always praise them in the sky… they werent that good.. no by far not! they had some ok songs, but all in all… Booooooooooring!!!

and what fucks me up most is, that in my hometown and around it, no one knows anything about real music, but when it comes to nirvana they’re all specialists! and do like they would know everything about musick… that sucks…

Nirvana were phenomenally interesting… 15 years ago.

I really love Nirvana, but thats cause I first heard them when I was about 12/13, and it opened my ears to a lot of new music.

People have taken the idea (as Nirvana did - from bands like the Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Killing Joke etc) and taken it somewhere else…

Its a cash cow that aint ever gonna run out of milk. Look at Hendrix, been dead 36 years and he still releases upwards of half a dozen albums a year! Thats good going for a dead guy!

You get all of this absolute crap and i’m STILL waiting for the one thing they haven’t released: the Unplugged DVD!!!
