It was a great show, although they should not be called Foo Fighters, but the Dave Grohl Band! :D
And thanks to my lovely driver robby, for bringing me home safely.

Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity, 24th January, at The Garage, Glasgow.
I went to see Clutch, and had never heard any of COC’s stuff before. Fucking awesome night, Clutch shoving in something like a 7 minute jam during “La Curadena” (I think).
COC were pretty cool too, I’d advise folk to have a listen to some of their stuff.
Really good venue too…It was the first time I’d been to The Garage, and I was very impressed, with both the layout, and the sound quality.
EDIT: I just realised I already posted about being at this gig…but this post was more informative so I demand to be forgiven.

Although I’m not a Foo Fighters fan, this was an absolute brilliant show
Support acts sucked big time, except for the AC/DC cover :)
And a big fuck you to Sherpa for giving us stress again with our tickets

My wife is the fan, not me (in fact, last time I saw T?, Thunder were playing in the same building at the same time) but I must confess that whilst their music doesn;t do much for me, they were very good, and the singer has one hell of a strong voice.

The Skreppers and Mastica at Vernissa, Vantaa yesterday
Skreppers was great but played too short set because the singer smashed the drums. Don’t know was that intention or mistake… Also there was a lot of naked men at audience as this gig was “Turbonipples VII” by Turbojugend Vantaa (I think that they arrange it) and that is not a pretty sight to see buttnaked drunken finns stage diving… :p

I mean i like the strokes but the main reason i’m going is because my mate wants to and i would much rather go see Mr. Cave…:(

Fucking awesome, tiny venue for such a band, brutal yet chilled out, and the drummer bears an uncanny resemblance to CJ from the Wildhearts.

yeah it was good. it was strange though as my mate wasn’t really into it so i had that to contend with. but the band were good. very tightly played. i expected it to be a bit of a shambles but they played really well.
@hatham: the nick cave tickets were rediculously overpriced. i was going to see him in cambridge until i found out it was £35.

Nice. Shame about the mate. It’s always annoying when that happens, isn’t it? Goes for gigs, films, anything really.

They were a bit cheaper over here(£27.50) but even still thats a fair bit. Having said that, i was in the frame of mind that ‘this might be one of the few times i get to see him’ so i was going to throw caution to the wind and get tickets. The Strokes tickets arent much better either at £25…DAMN YOU FRIEND WHO WANTS TO GO REALLY BADLY!

I saw a Smiths and Morrissey tribute act last night in the Vic Inn in Derby. It’s tiny, and it was absolutely packed. Every single person was singing along, and they got a fantastic response. Absolutely amazing, especially for a tribute band.
And they played ‘I Know It’s Over’ and ‘The Last Of The Famous International Playboys’ too!

Damn straight it was. I even got to shake hands with the lead singer! The people next to me were losing it, especially when they played ‘November Spawned A Monster’. Here’s how it went:
The Other Morrissey: So was anyone here born in November?
Girl next to me: YES, OH GOD YES, I WAS, OH GOD YES, NOVEMBER SPAWNED A MONSTER, YES! *Shoves me into crate at the side of the stage, thus worsening my bruises*
All in all, fanfuckingtastic.
Anyhow, there must be a Led Zeppelin tribute band near you? There seems to be about 1000 of them…

Haha, you just reminded me of the one that played in some pub not a 100 miles away from me. Never got to see them but apparently the guitarist was a bit worse for wear and he kept fucking up the solos. So much so the singer stopped halfway through the song and told him to fuck off :D
