Any views on the performances/ceremony which was aired last night?

Weller was a let down - dodgy version of Town Called Malice with his average band (two ex-Ocean Colour Scene, yeuch!)

Prince was on form though - quality stuff!

:D You read my mind!

Hands off the Tunstall girl, I want her all to myself!!

U2 was also 2004, was it not?
(I was half-expecting Abba to get Best Album and The Beatles to be named Best Breakthrough Act or such like..)

And, just to recap:

James Blunt is a girly tosspiece.

They were nominated in every single category!

Even Best Female!

If there had been a “Best Band That Isn’t Arcade Fire” category they’d have been nominated!

thing about them having albums from 2004 in the catagorys is that there is a cut off of the begininng of september for an album to be classed 2004 or 2005, green day and u2 came out after september so then get classed in the 2005 releases and in the 2006 awards. This is so that albums released in december 2004 and are slow builders to greatness don’t don’t miss out on reconition in the 2005 awards so go in the 2006 ones.. I hope this sort of makes sense.

Its because Arcade fire made the best album this side of the millenium.

actually yeah…i seem to remember (maybe wrongly!) that radiohead were nominated for Kid A in 2002 when their most recent effort was Amnesiac.

Never fucking won, mind.

He is so entirely void of charisma - they probably didnt even notice he was there…Until he tried to sing and he was cut short by an announcement on the tannoy saying they were trying to sort out the terrible feedback noise coming from the stage.

He gets all this fame just cos of one song that makes ugly girls feel loved when they hear it, whilst they are settling down in front of the TV with a box of chocolates and a Hugh Grant DVD. He’s not singing to you, love! You’re not beautiful! It’s just some bird on a train! Real life ain’t like that, real men don’t think you’re beautiful, they just think you’ll do for now!

Erm, sorry. Got carried away there!

The lyrics are shit too :

” I saw you on a train - you were with another man ”

 Probably her husband. Dont say ” another man ” like you automatically assume you’re gonna get her at some stage

I’m gonna write a reply song to you’re beautiful called “yes, i am, compared to YOU YOU INBRED FUCKING WASTE OF FUCKING FLESH!!”

Its gonna be huge. I invite you ALL to come sing backing vox.

Funeral was released in 2004. Before September, too. The only thing that happened in 2005 was it got a bigger distribution deal.
Anyway, the thing about the Brits is: they’re pointless.

I hate to state the obvious, but I don’t think the better artists would be that bothered if a hundred thousand sheep didn’t go out and buy their records.
