Bring back the fan club!

Started by Acquiesce

Okay, so the website replaced the fan club. Thats fair enough I guess, the website is great, but wouldn’t it be nice to receive some T? themed post every now and then?

I know its an expensive thing to do, but seriously - how many bands these days can boast a fan-club? Not many.

Just a thought.

I think it would be a lovely idea. Would it be still possible these days? Help anyone?

I think it is, if there are enough members to cover the costs of course :)
and they might need some people to help them I think, but that might not be a problem… here’s a volunteer already :D

I think fanclubs have fallen out of favour cos its outdated y’know? Pay £30 per year and get a t-shirt, a badge and a bit of goss in a newsletter every now again…its a bit crap. You can get all that online for far less money. Maybe if we got something special out of it it might be worth it but I don’t see it…

Fan clubs are/were a pop band thing, if anything. Websites are free and open to everyone, better than paying over the odds for a piece of paper and pieces of other crap.

i think generally the whole fan club thing is too dated now, not when you’ve got websites as good as this one (quick plug for you Sarah :D).

If you want to receive T? themed post maybe it might be worth going on the record companies mailing list? They might send out flyers etc when new releases are due. I might be wrong, mind. :)

I think this website is better than any fanclub ever could be but maybe some mail order CD’s of live stuff/rare B-sides/demos etc would be cool.
