I like it, some nice riffs, chorus is good. It’s not really catchy, nor does it “rock” though. I mean it doesn’ blow me away in a HA sort of way. It has a different feeling. A bit like a cross of SPYF and Semi-Detached maybe.

“Bulletproof Cupid” from Girls Against Boys off of Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby.
Similar kind of throbbing main riff.

I agree it’s not as “rockin” as some other stuff, but I like it when they mix it up and play around with different styles and time signatures. That’s what makes the band great.

I liked it alot on first hearing, now I’m bursting to hear what the rest of the album is to offer.

Awesome tune!

I love the rythem to the hole thing - it’s got real groove, a get up and dance feeling about it

Remindes me of the circus for some reason…

That’s exactly why I hven’t listened to it yet. It took several weeks for me to listen to Hey Satan on HA after I listened to it in bad quality for weeks before the release.
I don’t want to spoil this T? album, although it’s fucking hard to ressist.

I’ve been playing it since the day it was posted and it’s still growing on me, it’s hypnotizing but I find it sounding rather you know sad, disappointed so I stick with my first opinion I wouldn’t open the album with it, but maybe they’ve opted for a slow start now after all the initiating violence on the previous discs and after all it’s only me. Anyway as a showcase for all the T? elements it counts as the perfect choice. And a reassuring showcase it is.

Although technically speaking it’s not the first track on the album (check out Michael’s diary posts) — and with this in mind, I think it works quite well as an opener. It’s growing on me quite a lot too.

I’m not listening to it. I gave into the temptation of listening to the leaked Guns N Roses demos, but the way I see it, no one knows when that album’s coming out so I could be waiting a year or more. I can wait a month for the full effect of One Cure.

wonder what the intro is like. i am a sucker for noisy first tracks so it does seem like a strange opener, but then again doll / monkey wrench works well on foo fighters ‘the colour and the shape’ so maybe this is something similar (in reverse!)?!?

I love it. I think its more infectious everytime I hear it, the vocals sound like they were recorded from outside the studio…real Queens of The Stone Age sound to the guitars… and as well as amazing drumming from the always impressive Cooper… one thing that struck me is how well the backing vocals sounded, is that Andy doing backing as well? Even when Martin was in the band the backing vocals never sounded as well placed as they do here in Sprung. Can’t wait for the album release!

Production does sound modern (good I guess), the groove is probably the best thing about it.

Still very looking forward to hearing the rest though. Roll on Rain Hits Concrete & the rest.

If you go back to the initial post, it says “TRACK” not “SONG”, so I think you lose this argument!

Nothing wrong with going against the grain once in a while… its hardly an acoustic love ballad lads, its a groovy monster!!

Sorry, this is of topic, but to reply to Richboy (can’t send you an email!); the leaked Guns N Roses tracks can’t be found on any file sharing websites anymore. If you want them, add me to MSN and I’ll send them to you: phil_against_the_machine@yahoo.co.uk

They’re pretty good and catchy, but totally different from the old stuff though.

“Sprung” is pretty good, though. Kind of like “Unbeliever”, IMO, which sounds not very spectacular at first but grows on you and will rock your socks off live!

I like it that both “Sprung” and “Rain Hits Concrete” are rather simple in their structures. On their last two album Therapy? were always as much in your face as it gets and strangely that took some longevity from the songs. Maybe this way it will be different - or maybe not we’ll have to see.

I love the lyrics to “Sprung”. Typically Andy. “Don’t take it lying down.” Great. Therapy? always seem to be speaking directly to me.

Can’t wait for the album.

Kinda like Rise Up…

Do I see a theme here?
