I’m not sure about Shameless

#

Started by wankingsavedmylife

Ok.. i think i’m going to admit it, I dont like shameless (apart from Tango Romeo) and I dont know why. I think its because I bought suicide pact at the same time… someone please tell me its a good album and not actually just a nice quick easy listen.

ok you dont like it but its not because its a bad album its just new and different. granted it is different to the other albums, it is a bit more fresh and cutting edge. admitedly from such great albums as troublegum and infernal love shameless does not bare such great qualities and is very different but it is not worse because of this. just listen to it a few more times and im sure you’ll love it after all it is therapy? and when ever have therapy? let you down. SHAMELESS DOES KIK ASS

its not suprising that a T? fan doesnt like all of their albums, when you consider each one is completey different. personally, i dont like nurse as much as the others. just enjoy it for what it is wankingsavedmylife (nice name by the way) although when youve got the awesome suicide pact to compare it with, its no contest really

Oh yeah, regarding Infernal Love, I’m not overly keen on that either, am I the only person who likes semi-detatched?

Yeah, ‘Femtex’ rules…

I love ‘Semi-Detached’ and also have to say that ‘Nurse’ is the album that I like least although it contains ‘Disgracelands’ which is one of my fav T? tracks.

The last few weeks the album I most listened to was ‘Babyteeth’ because I just got into the magic of ‘Dancin’ With Manson’; what a fantastic song!

I also think Semi-Detached is superb. In fact, the threesome Troublegum, Infernal Love, and Semi-Detached is just perfect, I can’t really choose a favourite among them. Although I think Shameless is a good album, it’s not a good as the threesome I mentioned. I guess it’s no. 4 for me, together with Babyteeth. I don’t listen very often to Nurse, but there are some great songs on it, like Disgracelands, Nausea, and Neck Freak. And Suicide Pact… I don’t know, I’m still not used to it, although Little Tongues First has become one of my favourite songs. Hate Kill Destroy must be the worst song on this album.

my order of fav to least fav: nurse, SPYF, TG, CP, Shameless, SD, IL

so i don’t think there is any correlation with me between the order i heard it and the albums i enjoy most

from fav to least fav :
1-suicide pact (heavy..disturbing..perfect…
2-semi detached (probably the most complete of ‘em all..you got it all here)
3-troublegum (enough said..what a blast)
4-infernal love (probraly the personal master piece of mr andy cairns..but still..the production pisses me off..badly
5-baby teeth (cool)
6-pleasure death(cool)
7-nurse (same problem as infernal love…)

what album is fat camp on? is it on born in a crash? or is that bad karma follows you around? I’m really thick, many apologies… I agree with what that geezer said earlier, the production on infernal love and nurse is shite, but if you can listen around it then there cracking albums.I remember reading somewhere that Andy wanted to avoid the grunge thing with nurse though, so thats why the guitars sound really thin, as for infernal love… i think they just found out the delights of putting a load of annoying noise before each track. (i know they do this on nearly every album but shhhhhhh!)

Hey Mr. Wanking! (Nice name…). Fat camp is on the T?-retrospective ‘Ten Year Plan’ together with ‘Bad Karma…’.
I think there’s also a special version called Fat Camp II as a b-side on a part of the new single ‘I Am The Money’. By tghe way: These two songs are real killer tracks!!
Concerning Nurse: I remember Andy mentioning in an interview, that he wasn’t happy with the producer of Nurse, because the guitars were sounding too clean. I think this could be a reason why T? did a new recording of ‘Disgracland’ about 2 years ago. In my opinion, Nurse could be a fantastic album, if it was produced in the ‘Suicide-Pact’-way. Some great songs & lyrics on it…

personally i think Babytheeth and Pleasure death are the best two albums coz they have a really harsh ‘recorded in your garage’ sorta sound to them.
I perfer this sorta style to the ‘smoothed all the creases out’ style of the more recent stuff
