i just think the designs are a bit too… different for most people. but ive got a minarik inferno so i quite like strange designs

Actually the Warlock is surprisingly comfortable to play. It’s heavy, though, and the stock pickups aren’t anything to write home about.

i love the mockingbird shape, i’ve stil got my cheap mockingbird copy, but i wouldn;t buy any BC Rich from anything below the NJ Classic range where you actually start getting good quality instruments (around £500)

never really seen many dean guitars and what i have have never really impressed me. if Dimebag got them make his siganture model and then moved to washburn that implies something to me about the quality of Dean, plus the only place i know near me that stocks Dean is the shitty music shop in town who have 1 proper Gibson in the shop, the rest are cheap brands.

but unless you can afford and really really want a good BC Rich, id go for ESP LTD range, well infact i did, quality guitars for low amounts, even the entry level model pisses on cheap BC Richs and thats just with the stock pickups.

I was actually going to buy that, but I saw the twat from Busted/Son Of Dork playing one, so I didn’t in the end.

I think of BC and Dean guitars as being too met-uhl for me anyway. I’m more into rock and punk bands than bands like Pantera or Slayer.

i think its a bit strange saying that they haven’t “taken off”. A lot of metal bands use BC Rich, and there are a few signature model Dean guitars on the market too.

I mean, they’re never gonna rival Fender or Gibson, but i think they probably sell a fair few.

They’re just a bit gimmicky really, you aint gonna buy a BC Rich if you make folk music, know what i mean! Although you probably should. Hmmm…

My bass (not a Warlock) is quite neck-heavy and it’s only got 21 frets.. It’s annoying, but yeah, you do get used to it.

Problem with the BC Rich range is that it is always gonna be seen as a Metal guitar, whereas the Gibsons and Fenders of this world have been used for all kinds of music, and don’t suffer from the same kind of stereotyping.

I always think of those guitars as ‘metal’ guitars. Matt Bellamy from Muse plays a pointy Dean style guitar on the Hullabaloo dvd, not sure what it is exactly though.

Anyone else seen any recent bands trying to save these types of guitars from the metal graveyard?! :)
