OCFA reviews

#

Started by hoochalobster (Sarah) Super Moderator

There’s been a few bitchy comments and disagreements in the reviews thread over the past couple of days about what is/isn’t appropriate. It seemed easiest for me to take the thread down; I’ll put it back into General T?pics on album release day :)

Nice one man - too much bitching going on. Feel like I am repeating myself, but what is the point of judging something that you haven’t heard in all of its glory yet. Who knows what the quality of these downloads people have mentioned so far were like.

I have the beer in the fridge and am waiting for the release date

Roll on April 24th and hopefully a Dublin gig sometime in the near future :D

P.S. Yes, I will also be downloading the single and can’t wait!!!

That’s a good thing you did Hooch, this thread brought up all the evil in me, and that was surely not good for my heart :p
It got me dissapointed in quite some ‘fans’ :(
But I’m still looking forward to see this one up again soon!

Walk Through Darkness is THE song on OCFA, but asa whole it’s not as good as NANE(too many metal riffs in my opinion)though it’s far from beinga mediocre album, it’s just a good one with at least one song on it to make it into my all-time T? Top Ten.

It’s good to know some people who get promo copys. :D

many good songs!!!i think never apologise never explain and high anxiety were the worst albums so far!!!especially nane.i only liked the ship is sinking in that one and dead probably, but because there werent any good songs really.now that i am thinking ,suicide pact and shameless werent that good.i could only pick one song from each one,and would be,little tongues first and this one’s for you!
i hope their new album will kick ass live!and i hope that they will play more new songs in london show on may.

Hm, everyone is entitled to an opinion and it is all a matter of taste, but I see High Anxiety as return to form and NANE as a progression on that. Worst albums??? meh…

I personally found the albums with Graham Hopkins behind the drum kit were the most disappointing, but I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that one… :)

NANE worst album!!!

I do not agree!

Nane Is Melodic (Long Distance and So Called Life)

Nane Is Punk (Panic and Last one’s…)

Nane Is Noisy (Perish the thought, Rise up ang Ship is…)

Nane Is Metal (DLMF, Here be Monster)

Nane Is Rock (Rock You Monkeys)

Nane Is Therapy? (Polar Beer, Save The Sermon)

No doubt about it, Nane is one of my favourite rock album.

I am alone??? :(

Nah, you are not. As mentioned above, it was progression the way I saw it.

Dunno, for me every T? album has been unique and different in its own way - that is why I love this band.

Can’t think of many other bands that are so diverse in their output.

well its your opinion..hehe i didnt like NANE even i try alot to like it!!!believe me!but there werent any catchy songs, probably because iam fan more of the troublegum area!the song long distance was really good actually, but the chorus seemed to me abit crap, and boring!!realy!actually what i didnt like in NANE was andys vocals!!!!
were very bad.very simple, very clear, bit boring some times, not melodic, and generally the sound of NANE wasnt good for me.i prefer the sound of the new album..and also the lyrics in NANE werent that great…i mean come on,,,i was expecting more from therapy…they lost their passion in nane, but they are back…

NANE is a superb album. It combines the unusual catchy beats of the very early work like Babyteeth with the accessible punky aspects of the likes of troublegum and the darker and odd moments on SPYF (polar bear)

I didn’t like High Anxiety much at the time, but giving it another listen last night it’s not that bad - some good tunes on there but too many easy rock songs that aren’t particularly chalenging (sorry :()

I’m going to buy OCFA even if someone told me it was going to give me cancer ad impotence.

Verdict: OCFA - better than cigarettes

It’s true! Therapy was is more than “one style of music” band. I love them also for that.

Nevertheless I have my preference : And for example SD sound a little bit pop for me. I love the first songs of this album, but i find weeker the four last tracks (especially heaven’s gate and don’t expect the roses).
Instead I would prefer to see SD B-sides (the splendid Suing God and the crazy-punk 60 Watt bulbs)on the album.

I know that OCFA will be a good album, but I hope that will be not popy.

Anyways, each to their own - I liked all albums, but for different reasons.

Saying NANE had no passion just tells me that you never listened to it man.

peace…
