Do you ever get those days when you think that genocide isn’t such a bad idea and that everyone else MUST DIE!

What is it about a nice soothing thrash through a classic Slayer album at full tilt that makes it all so much better?

Yes I have those days too. Slayer is a fantastic band, they really made classics during the eighties. I really like the vocals, great riffs, great band.

Hell Awaits through Seasons in the Abyss are all classics.

Everything after “Seasons” has been a bit uneven..

by the way, wasn’t the beginning of Hell Awaits the easiest to spot backwards message ever?

Slayer is really a great band but after Seasons in the Abyss, they’re selling the name not the music. What they did after Seasons is not as good as the previous ones. I think Slayer’s succes must be a chapter in colleges in promotion, public relations lessons!

You make it sound like they’re not going to. Face it, we’re all going to die. Dead. You might die crossing the street and getting hit by a bus, being in a planecrash, pancreatic cancer, having to listen to N*Sync, being mugged, raped and battered in a back alley, but either way… you’re dead. Dead. You won’t be able to do a fucking thing after that.

All the money you had - useless. All the stuff you owned, like that clever little coffee machine that has a built-in timer so you won’t have to worry about making coffee before you head to work or that reclining chair you often sit down on and frown at the thought of your ever increasing disillusionment with modern Western society - pointless. All that matters is the experience that you’ve had and the legacy you’ve left. Face it. You are going to die. This is your life and it’s ending one minute at a time.

Happy Easter everyone!

Yes!! my kind of person! kick ‘em when they’re down, then kick ‘em a fuck of a lot MORE!! :D

You still owe me for an easter egg though. And it was a posh one with name iced onto it.

I love those British Easter eggs. Here in Norway you tend to get loads of smaller ones, or in my family we got big cardboard ones filled with little sweets, but when I lived in Embra my flatmates and I used to wait until after Easter and then buy two huge ones at half-price

I can quite easily. I put it in my mouth and just eat it. Anything else is, well, just plain ol’ weird.

Agreed!

I think the album Reign In Blood is overrated, though..I like a bit of up and down in the music, not just full on speed, it gets very dull after a bit.

The intention, I believe, was to release the new album on 6th June (i.e. 06/06/06) but I think they’re behind schedule so it won’t happen now.

On the plus side, it’s very short. Uh, if you see what I mean.

True, at least during the dull bits I can think “Not long now til I can stick the kettle on and have a jaffa cake”

South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss* are the career highlights for me (though I do like Payback and Disciple off the last LP)

looking forward to their first LP with Lombardo back behind the drums.

(*or “Wolverhampton” as it is more commonly known.)

OK, maybe I’ll REALLY go mad and have, like, TWO jaffa cakes.

…as long as the wife is out and doesn’t catch me. I’ll have to replace them before she notices, though…

:( They do!

But…HOW?!?!

Maybe Slayer should write a song about these demonic creatures…?

EDIT: Lyrics sound like “grunt grunt SHOOOOOOOOOUT SCREEEEEEEEEEAM”
But, check the lyric sheet: “That bitch has hidden the rich teas and the jammy dodgers AGAIN…!”

Anybody familiar with Congress? They split up last week, too bad. But frankly right now I’m much more in the mood fruitsalad.

Sorry mate, but we discussed Morbid Angel in some depth a few weeks back on the Cadbury’s Mini Rolls thread, and Behemoth were tackled around the same time during an in-depth debate over whether dunking Custard Creams in your tea was gross or not.

And we don’t want a repeat of thatdiscussion…

It’s clearly acceptable. :D
